Hello All, I have been a long time lurker on TRF. I have read interesting stories and have learned a lot about Rolex and watches in general. It is great to learn how much I have in common with others around the world.

A little about me. In August 2018, I decided to look at Rolex watches. I have been an very amateur collector of watches (mostly Omega and Tag) for many years but recently got pulled into the Smart Watch frenzy. I tried many Smart Watches over the years but never really found one that made me smile. I decided to look at the Rolex website to see if there was pieces that I would be interested in. Many years ago, I was talking to a guy that had a Two Tone Sub (I now know it was a 16613) that I thought was the most beautiful watch I have ever seen. Then, the cost of a Rolex was way beyond my budget.

I went into an AD with the hopes of trying on a OP39 or DJ41. There were a few DJ41's in the case and no OP39's. I tried on the DJ41 and loved the way that it looked under the lights but was not ready to buy anything that night. The AD gave me a large book of watches to take home. I thought about the watch for several more days and decided to go with the DJ41. I ordered the DJ41 and the AD said it may be sometime before it comes but it arrived about 3 weeks later. After wearing the watch for a few days I was addicted.

At that time I had no idea about the Rolex SS shortage but I quickly learned about it when I went back into the AD and acquired about a BNLR or Sub LVc. It was not really a big deal since I was not in a hurry for another new watch and I told the AD to call me if a BLNR or Sub LVc came in. The AD called me in November to let me know that they had a BLNR if I wanted it. Of course I said yes. Since then, I have also been lucky enough to purchase an SD43. At this point I am content with my small Rolex collection.

I am looking forward to getting to know you all and sharing stories.
