History of the 2254 2264

What is the history of this model? Was it produced for a short time only?

These were informally called Peter Blake Seamasters (famous Yachtman from New Zealand). Known for metal/aluminum bezel inserts, wave dials, and sword hands. Multiple variations between mid and full size with different looks/colors. Introduced early 2000 and ended production 2008/2009. Hope that helps.
