Hello from Vancouver
Hi TRF!

Recently joined to learn more about Rolex. I dont have one yet -- only watch in my collection is an Omega Pie Pan Constellation.

I'm currently on the hunt for my birth year DateJust.

Specifically a 1985 16014 with a white dial. Been searching for a few months now.

This place is an amazing source of info and people!

Looks like Bobs Watches has a few in that model, not sure if the exact one, but may be worth a look.

Lots of poor reviews about interactions on Bobs too...

I've been hesitant on going to the Rolex shop in downtown but after reading that your positive experience, I'm going to check it out. I just want to see what different dials and how one of these Rolex watches feel on the wrist

Oh really, I didn't realize that there were so many poor reviews. I heard he's a little pricey yes, but that is good to know.

I dealt with Mercedes at the Rolex boutique. She was professional, friendly, courteous, knowledgable and accommodating. I would make an appointment with her that way you don't take a chance on someone who might be less desirable.

Bob's is a good place to buy, not to sell to (low buying offers are the main complaint).

I have purchased there; I like: Rolex watches are inspected and are certified 100% Rolex parts, exchange/return if you do not like it, the watch will have just been serviced, and not having to deal with potential auction rip-off's /scams.

Keep "watching" Bob's, IMHO. It is a good place to check on as they do take in quite a bit of inventory. One "may" eventually turn up.

Be extremely cautious of you ever go the ebay route ... .

Also check Rolex dealers. Some do carry pre-owned.

Thanks for the advice! I've got alerts set up with Chrono24 and BobsWatches and hopefully something comes up.

Speaking of eBay, I did find a 16014 that is exactly what I'm looking for, but my spidey senses were all atingle...
