Best preowned deal

With the Panerai market seemingly at an all-time low, what's the best deal you have seen for a second-hand PAM?

I see several PAMs on DavidSW site for just over $4k.

I wouldn't mind finding a 233 at a great price.

I've seen very gently used PAM372s which retail around $9,000 offered at a little over $5,000.

With the exception of super-exclusive, desirable pieces most Panerai will be excellent value on the used market.

That's why most of us buy with our hearts and not our heads.

While the herd all scurries to get their hands Daytonas and Nautiluses, the rest of us can get quite nice deals on everything else. Panerai are just one of the many brands that can be had pre-owned for reasonable prices.

I'm not sure this is the best deal, but I picked up a dot dial PAM 233 for under $7K recently. Looks brand new except for the leather strap. I'm soo pleased with the purchase. GL searching!

I admit - I enjoy the experience of buying new. Are Panerais really prone to such depreciation once leaving a store??

On that same note (being new to the brand), which Panerai models would be comparable to the submariner in terms of long term resale value, should I purchase new? If I purchase, my sense is that I won't be able to go for anything other than a 42mm (possibly a 44mm given their history).

Personally I went for almost exclusively pre owned pams as their older models are more interesting than their newer ones (more varieties of 3rd party movt,no cost cutting measures, more affordable price comes as bonus)

The best bargain I've seen is 233 dot for around 6.5k usd,the only thing missing from the set is just the (now discontinued) OEM tunnel calf

However I've seen the price have gone up especially on the more interesting pieces (the likes of pam 74 and 190)

Rarely seen any 270 in the current market, last time I saw one asking around 7.5k usd earlier this year
