Real or Fake? Looking for input

Hi everyone,
I was hoping I could get some input on this watch. I am fairly confident its real. The only thing that looks off to me is the bracelet clasp. It looks like its off a sub.

I know there are a lot of people here with sharper eyes than me, so any help would be very much appreciated!

Thanks

The watch face looks ok to me. Take some photos of the #s on the bracelet.

No, he is asking about the actual clasp itself. The part that rests on the wrist,
has a date code on it.

It will look something like this.

One is real, one is fake.

i hope i am wrong. but the clasp on this gmt doesn't look right.

on a genuine model, the clasp is relatively shorter than that of a submariner (16610) and sea-dweller (16600).

the clasp on this gmt is the same length as that of the sub and sea-dweller.

Back in the day, I believe you could get a GMT with the Sub clasp as an option. I have been wrong before though!

Correct.

This should be moved to the Watchout section.

My thoughts exactly. I did a little investigating by looking at T-series or late 1990's models for sale on ebay. Only found 2 with a clasp looking like this one. Both did not mention about non-orginal parts, but thats ebay for ya

How can you even be sure it hasn't been photoshoped and the real watch looks different to the pictures sent?

Very true.

Now for all of you who may remember this thread:
http://www.rolexforums.com/~trfcom/s...d.php?t=198654

Let me remind you all. It dealt with an issue of goldwatchco jacking a fellow TRF members pics and passing it as their own and their use of photoshop......

Well I will give you all 1 quess where these pictures came from

I'd say that the watch looks real, but the clasp has been changed for a Submariner one.
I've seen this already with other 16710. Seems some people do like the Sub clasp better, as it looks better with its longer size.
Ask the seller about the reason why the clasp is not correct.
And never forget : always buy the seller before buying the watch !
;)
