In theory, gilt, but the dials are so tricky. I've always avoided because they're prone to crazing, cracking and other condition issues. But when they're good, man, they're beautiful.

Agree. It always feels like the old lume is about to crumble. Too scared to wear my 1964 5513 very often.

I have to confess I cleaned up of my 60s Gilt Subs for the same reason: loose radium sprinkles started floating around ...

Like choosing between a 911 and a 356... a lobster or a dry aged steak... a fried scallop or a grilled scallop. I think it just depends on which way the wind blows
