Hi Chaps! Quick story for you.

I’ve been on a wait list for the 126710 BLRO for 3 years now and have been dreaming of the day they’d come out with a ceramic SS since ‘08. I put my name on the wait list at my local AD (small but wealthy town in Canada) and was originally number 29 on his list. Being a small AD and given the worldwide demand he only received 2-3 per year. The math was not looking good...!

Over the last few years we’ve given him a small but semi regular business with some jewelry/watch repairs (non Rolex) and I’d stop in on a semi-regular basis to keep in touch but I had still only moved up to number 23 on his list.

Just before the COVID lockdown we sent in my wife’s wedding ring for repair. I mentioned (not for the first time) that I wished he’d take care of the locals (on his list) who support his business all year round BEFORE the wealthier city dwellers who only come up to buy the watch when their number comes up and then never support him again.

Out of the blue, just after picking up my wives repaired ring, he called to say he had a Pepsi in with my name on it. It was particularly surprising considering the Rolex production facility has been shut down and he’s had most of his back-orders cancelled.

Long story short, persistence pays off and if you can convince your local AD of the value locals bring to their year round business then perhaps you have a shot (even if you aren’t a multi Rolex buyer/owner)

Thanks to my local AD. As an airline pilot I love this watch because of its history.

This might have been the one to finally convince me, i need a GMT. I’ve been stashing cash away for a Daytona, now I’m leaning towards a 16710 and finding a sweet faded Pepsi insert.

Just arrived yesterday. A little Father's Day gift to myself but with the overwhelming support of my wife who somehow tolerates this crazy hobby!

Picked up this yesterday. Brand new unworn with stickers etc warranty dated April 2019. Possibly one of the last issued. Loving it so far!

Beautiful Batman, congrats. I got one dated March 2019 before Bazel. Fully stickered unworn too. I think that with the random serial numbers now it doesn't matter if you get the last year production of a reference like it was before. Mine or yours may have been produced years before.

Just picked this up yesterday. Yes, it is not conventional, but that is why I like it.

I was not aware these came in PVD. Was that applied post purchase or are they made this was by Rolex?

Rolex doesn’t make any like that. That is after market work.
