Daytona WG 116509 Bezel Swap to Ceramic

Has anyone swapped out a bezel to ceramic on a white gold 116509 Daytona? Just curious as I’ve never seen one!

There's the brown ceramic bezel on the Platona, yes, but not available on a WG Daytona for whatever reason, so I'm interested to know if anyone has done this.

GolfPunk, one of our members here, tried this a while back with a 116500 bezel and his watchmaker felt like it wasn’t going to fit and stopped.

Why would you want to swap, the white gold 116509 is glorious...I'd never muck around with mine. Actually, it's my favourite watch.

I agree - the WG Daytona bezel is really nice, but that's all I've ever seen so was just wondering if anyone (aside from GolfPunk's attempt) has successfully made the swap?

Contrary to the established belief,

It is possible to place a ceramic dial onto a 116508 or 116509

On the local HK forums, this was done.

However the dial did come from a OF 116518/116519

I would think this makes sense as the foundry of rolex would not have double moulds for the same PM watch case.
