Power Reserve test on my CHNR with the 3285 movement. A theme emerges.
Wanted to share my Power Reserve test and some comparisons of a theme with Rolex’s new movements. I always do a Power Reserve Test with all my new watches. So far every movement has surpassed the Rolex specs on accuracy and in power reserve. My CHNR has passed its Power Reserve Test with a end result of 71 hours and 44 minutes. Outstanding considering the spec is 70 hours. The watch also has held a 0.0 seconds in 3 weeks time. I have experimented with different resting positions and the movement barely deviates regardless how it sits over night. Here is where I am seeing a theme. When I tested the power reserve of the SD43 with the new 3235 movement, it has a power reserve of 71 hours and 40 minutes. That is increadably consistant between two watches. Looking over the notes of each test also revealed a accuracy theme of how long the movement remains absolutely perfect throughout the test. Both watches held its perfect accuracy for over 48 hours before they would start to deviate by a second or so. So with a longer power reserve also allows the watch to remain accurate for a longer duration as eventually somewhere in a mechanical watches mainspring winds down, ampitude will start to deviate. Why does this matter you say?? Because COSC test and certifies their movements at the top of the power reserve. Not a realistic real world test. Who cares how accurate a movement is at one point on its power reserve? A real world test would be how long through out its power reserve does the movement remain accurate. So far these Rolex new movements have bested their own in house standard of +2 or -2 seconds a day by over 2 days well into their power reserve cycle.

I’m so happy you picked this one up, as I love your photos!
Do you still have your SD50? I haven’t seen it in a while. |

No unfortunately it had to go as it was too big and caused pressure on my wrist tendons. None of my other watches including my DJ2 caused this so it was a rare size/weight issue just with the big diver. I can wear my CHNR all day, every day and forget its on my wrist.

Oh, that’s too bad, sorry to hear. Luckily, it was replaced with an absolute stunner in the CHNR. Even more luckily, there remains a space open in your collection for a Rolex diver.....maybe the return of the 116610LV........ ;-) |

I hate you.
I'm deciding of pulling the trigger on this now or save till the end of summer 2019 for a 116655.

I never thought I would own a TT anything. Until I saw this piece at a Basel event my AD had. I’ve owned mine for about 4 months now, it’s fantastic. It’s my bling with a touch of class piece.
