Panerai 01223 - Stunning in person

Went to a local AD to look a few watches I was interested in, and decided to swing by the Panerai section. I knew of the 01223 and lo and behold, they had one. Decided to try it on and wow, its awesome. For my 6.5" wrist, the 42mm size was perfect.

Seriously considering it now.

I was the exact same as you. I went in to try some completely different watches, and ended up walking out with a PAM1223. Great watch and my first panerai

They had one in stock??? That version is hard to come by.

Looks great, BTW.

It looks really good on you. I have a 6.25in wrist and do you think I can pull this thing up? I have a 42mm PAM728 which fits my wrist well but it is much slimmer compared to this PAM1223. I wish I could try it on before I pull the trigger. Any inputs would be appreciated!

728 to 1223..

Funny enough, I had a 728 and sold it (at a loss, naturally) because the side crown annoyed me on the watch. Stayed on the PAM sidelines for a while until the 1223 came out and love it. The white dial pops and I find it more visually exciting than the 728. YMMV but thats one persons' opinion! I have smaller wrists too and love the way this fits on my wrist. its not small by any means but its not overpowering either. For reference, I have pics of both - not from the same angle but you can see how it wears on my smaller size wrist too.
I also put my Blancpain FF on here so you can see how a 45 mm wears as well. Its definitely bigger but not overpowering.

These white dials are really something else. Check out this YouTube video. Absolutely stunning!

I have the same size wrists as you and it works perfectly. Wears much smaller than I thought it would to be honest.

They had I think only 1 in stock. It's at Hyde Park Jewelers in Newport Beach, CA (Fashion Island Mall), in case anyone wants to buy it! I worked with a sales person named Long, took me around the store and let me try on a bunch of watches, so if anyone reading this actually buys it, ask for him and get him some commission.

I love it. The dark blue strap on it looks incredible.
