You don't need a Pelagos to get a date function. There is a Black Bay with one.

I'd like to see them put a date on it with a cyclops like the old Tudor Subs.

Submariner managed to retain its popularity for decades by having both no date and date options side by side. Adding an alternative date option model will not mess the BB58 model in anyway and both can co-exist easily.

Would love my 58 even more if it had a date! I really hope they make a date option

A date complication would require a new movement yet again.

If that would be the case, I would rather see a GMT movement in the 58 case, then you'll have both the date and extra time zones.

I have had the Pelagos, and they are not even close in size. Pelagos is a fun watch, but too bulky for a daily. BB58 is the perfect size if not just a hair too small, but a date would be PERFECTION. Look at the Tudor Sub in blue which had a date...so not out of touch with history either.

I own both the original and blue BB58s, and I wouldn't have bought either if they had a date. Just ruins the aesthetic for me. But a lot of folks prefer a date, so it makes sense for Tudor to offer both options. At some point I assume it'll be available, as it was in the 41mm BB.

Tudor should add date option for Black Bay 58!

No date is my preference for Dive style watches

We have the blue dial one in my family. Wonderful watch. It’s a diver. Divers do not need date functions.

Nope. Like it the way it is. If you want a date get the standard Black Bay 41.

I bought the BB 58 because of its 5-digit dimensions with modern build quality; I felt it was a good value. But lack of date function is why I eventually sold it. I told myself I didn’t need a date but I found myself wearing it less and less. I check the date multiple times at work when doing paperwork. It’s the main reason I’m not interested in the new 36 mm Explorer.

It would be good if they gave the option on every color (although I prefer it without). AFAIK the steel bezel black bay and the S&Gs have the date.

If they add date to this 39mm size, it'll be perfect daily wear and will beat out all the competition of Aqua terra and other similar priced watches. If they don't want to add date, why not offer in 2 options - date and no date? I know Rolex is conservative in their choice but should let Tudor continue to play open field and offer 2 options for every customer and let them pick and it'll be truly worth it!

Your thoughts?

What Tudor should do is go back to making a day/date watch in both steel and two tone.

In general I'm anti date. But note that I say that while wearing my DJ41.

The GMT date window and lack of readability on the date led me to dump the watch. I have a phone and a computer screen that show me the date so on my watch it is not needed.

If they add the date, it won’t be BB58 anymore! Remember this is a historic model.

No date is infinitely cooler to me. Plus with the GMT date problems I’m not sure I would want to take that plunge. Tried the 58 on in Cabo and it was a great watch. If they made it in burgundy I’d like it even more but am very happy with the 41mm burgundy black bay - I’ve grown to love the heft.

Tudor should add date option for Black Bay 58!

Just use the bezel for a date. Much easier to do on this than the Sub, for example, since there’s only 60 clicks on the bezel. As you can see, today is the 23rd.
