Thoughts? Why doesn't this brand seem to have the hype of the others? is it maybe just because I'm in Canada?
The Breitling AD's around here are selling the crap out them. I have a nice heavy colt 2 sitting here on my desk. Excellent watch and bracelet. Much better than the SubLV on my wrist.

Although I must say that I find new Rolexes to also be overpriced and you should buy them used as well
Rolex, Breitling, whatever . . . IMHO pre-loved is the only way to go. Period.

I own 2 Breitlings and 4 Rolexes, the Breitlings don't hold there value as well, but they are a great watch.

I was drawn to breitling because of the aviation connection (several pilots in fam including yours truly).

i like the watch, but those vintage ones you guys have posted are awesome!

and in the end I got a nice watch from TRF member at very fair price.

I dont give a flip who endorses what, and Rolex is not the be all end all that some claim, just like Harley is laughed at in many circles. But hey, like I say: I am not a biker. I am a motorcyclist, and I love 'em all. same with watches. I am a watch enthusiast. I like em all. But TAG, Omega, Breitling, and a few Rolex models just appeal to me more than others.

I have a couple of older ones. A 3 dial Premiere from 1947, and a 50's SS Geneva(SP?). The new ones are nice but the number of models is mind boggling. Their catalogue is about 2 inches thick. If they streamlined their models I think their resale would be better and would create a more recognizable brand.

Totally. That just means you have to be careful what you choose and be prepared to hold on to your ling for a LONG time

Brietlings have the most volatile resale. It's scary. Just sold my last one

Good advice. Maybe not the best brand for a compulsive flipper. Be patient, choose wisely, and you'll have a great watch you'll want to keep for a long time, so resale becomes a non-issue.

I love my Breitlings, although 2 of my 3 are no longer produced. Also, I tried to stick to the classical looking ones. A 41mm Cockpit (no futuristic writing on the dial or bezel) 38mm Navitimer 92 (doesn't look like a hubcap on your wrist), and the Superocean Heritage 46 (OK fine it's large-ish, but it's proportional and ir's a black dial/bezel diver with no chrono's) this way they don't look out of style in a few years.

Ha ha! Spoken on behalf of Breitling fans everywhere.

Every Breitling I've owned, or might wish to own in the future, are out of production, except for the Navi and 42mm SOH.

I agree with what has been said. Breitling is like a rudderless ship. Where they will go next nobody knows - including Brietling.

The Steefish was a fantastic watch. Why it was discontinued is a mystery to me.
