Would you Trade...

Lange Zeitzone Platinum for a 5980 /1a straight up?

have a potential cash buyer for my 5980 and someone that wants to trade for the Lange. I like the lange but the funds from 5980 were to go towards another patek.

Just not sure if I want to add Lange to my collection...

Anyone familiar with Lange and this particular model care to chime in? What I like about this watch is that its large (41.9mm) - what I dont like is that Lange doesnt seem to hold up as well on the secondary market.

thoughts?

Stay the course, unless you don't need the 5980/1a funds for your upcoming Patek purchase. Also, I wouldn't trade for it just because it's a good deal (and I'm not sure if it is or isn't) or because the opportunity just presented itself. Plus, there are other Langes I'd prefer, IMHO.

You'll need a magnifying glass to read the names of the cities.

Sell the 5980 and used the funds for another Patek. Which Patek are you considering? Only Lange I would consider is the Datograph.

I'd trade for these two as well, not the timezone.

5980 is sold. It's a great piece but a bit small for my 6'4" frame. And I prefer a leather strap over bracelet.

If you're getting the 5524 can't wait to see the incoming.

5524 is on order. As soon as AD gets one, it's mine. Another piece for next year is 5270r. Decided to wait for my 20th anniversary later in the year to get that.

I'm also very curious as to what Patek will release at Basel world. Hoping for more watches in the 42mm size range.

Though for me, the 5980 never would have made it in the door to begin with. Just not a fan.

I liked the 5980. Just wish it had been a tad bigger. I know that for most the nautilus series is the perfect size. For me, it felt too small. Regardless, watch is sold.

No. The dial on that lange is too busy for me. I'd trade for a Dato or an 1815 chrono though.

If your 5980 was a bit small I think you'll like the Timezone's size. Nice chunky watch.

Just curious did you contemplate the 40th anniversary 5980?

I did not. I owned the 5980 and enjoyed it. I've moved on. Curious to see what's coming from Patek at Baselworld. Will they bring out more watches in the 42mm range aka 5905 and 5524? Wonder what the trend for Patek's will be.

While I've loved the brand, their watches have been just too small for me. So I like my 42mm 5905. It's why I have the 5524 on order. It's why I'm finally falling in love with their perpetual s- 5270.

I know many are not liking the more current sizes but I love it. The funds from the 5980 will be applied to the 5270 or 5524. Just depends on timing for me next year.
