My children absolutely adored the magical, animated 1982 TV movie, 'The Snowman' based on Raymond Briggs' illustrated book.

For some reason I’m one of those weirdos that really like James Bond around Christmas time. Some network in the late 90s or early 2000s used to do this and it sort of stuck with me. I drive my poor wife crazy, there’s so many old Bond films I can watch over and over.

Winter camouflaged, Junkers Ju 52/3mg4e, a fabulous Ron Goodwin soundtrack in a superb opening sequence. Richard Burton, Clint Eastwood and plenty of snow, always a winner on Boxing Day.

I've loved Donna Reed, all my life.
I would have, but there are so many others I typically watch from that same era. Bells of St Marys hasn't been mentioned yet.

Haha!

Lt. Morris Schaffer- "Second rate punk," eh?
Major John Smith- Sorry. All I could think of on the spur of the moment.

The night before and the office Christmas party are really funny. The family man is good, kinda sad though.

There's also various adaptations of A Christmas Carol and other adaptations of it such as A Christmas Carol (1984), Scrooged (1988), The Muppet Christmas Carol (1992), and Disney's A Christmas Carol (2009).

A perfect Christmas story.
No CGI, no car chase, no, 'crash bag wallop', just a plausible, entertaining, multi-faceted, well acted and directed, tale of a family Yuletide gathering.

Holiday Movies

Even though it’s not a Christmas movie, our family watches Planes, Trains and Automobiles on Christmas Eve/day.

I discovered eggnog in National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation (1989). Never tried it, is it a nice drink?

IMO, no, not at all. If egg yolks & heavy cream are to be drank, then yes, you may like it.

I cant believe that A Christmas Story didnt show up until page 2 in this thread. TNT crammed it down our throats for decades on back to back marathons the entire month of December. I think I can quote just about every line in it and when I was about 10, I finally got a Daisy BB gun after seeing Ralphie get his Official Red Ryder, Carbine action, 200-shot range model air rifle with a compas in the stock.
