Looking for my first submariner in Sydney
Hello guys and happy new year, I'm new to the forum but spend more time in watchuseek. Currently I'm in Sydney Australia with the family for several days, and hoping I can find my first submariner. I hear buying one is like a shot in the dark. Does anyone recommend what AD I can visit that maybe they might have one. According to my local AD sales person back in the US, Rolex is closed until mid January so that won't help. Any advised will be greatly appreciated.

You've got far far far more chance of getting one in the US.

No harm in asking, but if you are after SS you might be disappointed at the ADs.
Strand Arcade has two good shops, one pre-owned the other a grey market dealer, if you are not set on the AD experience, these might have what you are after. Good luck |

NO AD in Sydney will have a sub. It is becoming rare for a DJ41 to be available (without ordering it), let alone a Sub. |

Thanks guys for the info. On a side note, back on August 2018 my AD sale guy offered me a brand new sub batman at msrp, and I didn’t know the hype. Now I’m kicking myself is a$$. Smh Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Looking for my first submariner in Sydney
This one is for sale in Sydney in a private sales group for AU$10,300, obviously used.
Same group, $12,200 LNIB None of these are mine nor do I have an affiliation with the sellers, but just letting you have an appreciation of what the market looks like here. |

Finding a Sub steel at the ADs hardly happens anymore. The waiting list is long so when they get one, they just call someone.

How's the situation in Melbourne or Sydney? Assume there's nothing SS even a Sub non-date?

You wont find nothing in Sydney/Melb or Brissy and if your buying from a gray dealer it will be more expensive AFTER you factor in currency exchange anyway. Grays in AU buy alot of their stock from O/S and just resell them with premiums anyway so might as well buy directly from O/S and save yourself money

Alternatively, try buying three watches they have IN STOCK (ie women datejust, maybe?), and ask again. |
