Help with possible purchase
Good evening,
A close friend is offering to sell me his sub. He purchased it with PX during his service in Vietnam. I asked him for additional pictures but he did send me a couple. Perhaps those here with extensive knowledge of vintage can give me a better idea of year, reference and what’s a fair price for me to offer him. Not sure what’s original to the watch, waiting on additional pics and info. Looking forward to the feedback.

Looks like a nice late 60s 5513 with zinc sulfide lume.

looks good on first glance.
late 60's most likely with that meter first dial and kissing four insert. Must be the final period of the meter first as I recall most of them carry long 5 inserts. Looks like original 702 crown too on a rivet bracelet. |

Based on the widths of the links, it appears to be a 7206 bracelet. Looks nice overall. More photos are needed to assess case condition, but I assume it's pretty polished. Any accessories?
It should be pretty easy to find comps for a late 60s meters-first 5513, but the price will vary depending on who is selling it. You'll have to decide how to price it, I really don't think we can do that for you considering it's your friend's watch.

He did say the bracelet may have been replaced at some point. Not sure what additional accessories he has.

Can anyone say if hands and dial are original to the watch?
Thanks,

No, we don't even know the serial number or reference number on the case. If you are serious about getting information, please provide good clear comprehensive photos from all angles, including of the inside of the case-back, the movement, the bracelet/clasp, etc. Move the hands and take better photos of the dial. Post UV shots of the hands and dial.

It looks v v nice, I would snag depending on asking.
Ask what has, or has not, been done to it over the years. |

Looks nice, if the price is good you should go for it, being that it’s a close friend and not some shady dealer. Only you can make that decision.

Looks really nice.
As the above has written, it seems to be the late 60's. Upload more high quality images please. |
