How tight to screw in the crown?

Is that true that screw down crowns are very easy to strip the threads and they need not to be over tighten ?

Just finger tight, no more. No need or benefit to torque the hell out of them. In fact, you can ruin the seals if you constantly tighten too much, too often.

Make sure to screw just tight enough to prevent water from coming in

Just until it stops. Let the seals do the work.

There is no need to tighten the crown beyond snug..

The seals inside the crown tube around the stem are the main water seals.. the gasket in the crown is the secondary safeguard and if you tighten it too much, you wil shred/compress and ruin it..

Others have answered your question but regarding stripping the threads.I see many threads on TRF about wearing out or stripping the threads on there watches if they use the crown.Just think of all the manual wind Rolex with screw down crowns that get wound for decades without any problem whatsoever.

I agree, u pay that much on a watch its not gonna be broken/damage so easily. More importantly if you use your fingers to tighten you will not damage the watch or even the seal.

Over tightening will not improve water proofing your Rolex !! The O-ring is just doing this job perfectly as long as the crown is normally hand tight.
