The New Rolex Deep Sea Special, 11 km Deepest Dive Waterproof - How it could look...
After the exciting news Rolex is indeed using the golden opportunity 2 with James Cameron to dive down to deepest point on earth with 2 Rolex, logically 2 modified Rolex DeepSea's, I wonder how this extremest Dive Watch should look like so I added the dial and sphere shaped glass on my Piccard DeepSea and got this...
And a side vieuw on the left of the stainless steel version where I added the original DeepSea Special glass.... I'm excited to see what it has become at the end. This will definitely rock and the moment to show us a new Rolex, is at first NOT during Basel but combined with James cameron international historical achievement in managing to be the first man, alone, on the deepest spot on earth! Bravo Mr. Cameron & Bravo Rolex, i'm already impressed!! And James, my hero ;-)I wish you a safe and very successful expedition, all the best!! http://rolexpassionreport.com/4150/r...allenger-deep/ Rgrds.Philipp |

The deep sea special glass is about 1" tall. Rolex has already done this. I'm not sure they would do again with a modern watch but it would be cool. Since the watch can just be completely sealed the engineering should be simpler than a DSSD since size is no option. Just make a very thick case and super thick crystal No He valve needed. Easiest way is with an oiled filled watch and non mechanical movement. Sinn and Ball already make these.

Honestly cannot see any point only for marketing but many today just buy the name on the dial, plus its bigger heavier and can go deeper etc.And we all know that heavier and bigger and go deeper is always better to some.
