Rolex Authnetication

I have bought my first New Rolex online from a dealer on Chrono24.
The watch comes with a Box and papers, but I would like piece of mind knowing its real. Where in Miami can I take it to be authenticated?

Thanks

Authentication

The best way to find out is to get the watch serviced by Rolex. It will cost you approximately $600, but it will give you piece of mind.

Rolex Authnetication

Oh boy. Yup. If it’s ready for a service - off to the RSC, or you can roll the dice with a local AD who may have no interest in authenticating.

What do you know about the seller / his reputation???

I agree even though you save money buying from Chrono24, it is worth spending little bit more buying from a reputable establishment.

I'm new to Rolex pre-owned world too and got a watch authenticated on this forum. People here are very very helpful and give you great advices. You'd need to take a lot of pics from every angle and if you can post movement pics, that'll be great. This will help you avoid any embarrassing situation when you take the watch to RSC in case its a fake. And of course, you'll get piece/peace (whatever you're looking for :P ) of your mind.

Take it to a RSC for a service quote.

The Watch was sold as New.
The seller has a brick and mortar shop in LA. Good reviews on FB, Yelp and Google. Couldnt find any negative reviews.
IF the watch is sent away to RSC and deemed fake, they destroy it and send you a "too bad so sad letter", so no come back with the seller.

Send it to the RSC and ask for a service estimate. If the watch is good, refuse the service and get the watch back with a copy of the estimate (your bona fide). If the watch is fake they will send it back to you. They can't legally keep it.

I was told by chrono24, if the watch is opened, the warranty is void and I cant return it. I guess that does not apply if its done by RSC..?

There does not seem to be any RSC in Miami according to the Rolex website.
Looks Like I will have to send it off.
Thank you all for your pieces of mind and good advice!

I would just like to point out that there are two new users, who sound an awful lot alike, posting this morning, and both are concerned mainly with authentication without being watch-specific, and both are asking about Miami, and both claim to be in locations other than Miami (on their TRF profile page anyway). It could be a coincidence, but my Spidey sense is tingling.

In Miami, you only have a few resources who might help. There are some sellers in the Seybold Arcade who may help.

Before you smear new members publicly, perhaps you can PM a mod with your unfounded suspicions. They can check IPs and respond accordingly.

Come on. Not smearing anyone and not unfounded. Just sharing my observations, which are verifiable if you read the threads, in the Watchout forum so that members can, you know, watchout. I think that PMing one of the already too busy mods over simple observations would be an unnecessary escalation.

Yep, I have used Dallas before. I was hoping for an RSC in Miami or in Bahamas. Rolex in NYC said that John Bull Nassau is an Authorised Service shop. Hopefully that will suffice as its the closest Geographically without having to mail it off.

If you mean AD and not RSC then just go to Rolex.com and you'll find them all in any town.

Who was the seller on Chrono24, private party or dealer ? what was their feed back like ? Did you get it at a implausibly good price ?

there's a shedload of them for sale, priced similarly from established dealers, so what makes you think yours is suspect ?
By and large, best to do due diligence before buying, rather than after ......

LEC crown is very visible, and no AR on cyclops. This may be a fake.

Took the watch to Rolex Boutique in Miami, their head watch guy was very helpful and gave me his professional opinion that all was in order.
Still paranoid and not comfortable with just a visual inspection I sent it for service and got the Green "Rolex" light.
(Still would have preferred to buy from AD instead of grey market prices and stress).

Glad to hear it, and congrats on a nice watch!

I would suggest, however, that you avoid posting photos with the serial number visible.

I'm not sure if that's possible, but perhaps a mod could help out.
