My Rolex is my FitBit

On March 17, I started a thread in regard to the Corona Virus and whether or not you’re wearing your Rolex while being quarantined. (If I was tech-savy, I would’ve included a link to that thread; I’m not). Ever since posting that, I’ve worn my Sub everyday since, taking it off to sleep.

Today my Sub “told” me it was time to move more, exercise more and stop snacking. How you ask? Each day, the bracelet is feeling more snug. Today was the last straw. I refuse to extend the easy link and will take my Rolex’s hint and exercise more.

Anyone else’s bracelet becoming a “FitBit”?

So you can’t exercise more, eat less crappy and wear your Sub at the same time? I know you refuse to use the glidelock but that’s what it’s there for, not to go over a wetsuit!

To answer your question though, no.

It’s there like that extra notch on your belt, right?

Yeah, I'm with you. I noticed that I had to adjust the easy link on my DJ -- which happens sometimes -- but so far my wrist hasn't shrunk back like it usually does! So I'm putting away the caramel M&Ms and hitting the grapes and apples instead. Damn you Rolex! ;-P

Could have sworn that's what my AD told me when I bought mine a couple of years ago.

The weather is getting a lot warmer... might be extreme to think you gained that much weight on your wrists.

Not warm here yet in Southern New England, can’t attribute it to that. Maybe it’s the Cadbury mini eggs from Easter.

I do exercise in my garage, with my body weight and 20 lb ruck plate and my online trainer. 1 hour per day.
I have watch on my left wrist, and Fitbit on my right wrist. ( used to have Apple watch) Recently I find out fitbit isn't that good because it can't detect my SPo2 level, so I got Huawei Honor 5, its way cheaper but functions better than fitbit. To me, Spo2 is importmant because I need to know my blood oxygen level specially during this crazy moment.

When tour watch stops ticking...

That’s the ultimate sign of “get up and do something”

Been there, did this:

I removed links so that the watch only fits me with glidelock fully extended

in order to have just those 2mm as a constant reminder of my wheight

Yeah no kidding. All of my watches have been fitting more than a little "snug" lately. Time to get back on that treadmill and stop eating everything in sight

So you have put weight on since covid? Fair enough. But put so much on that your wrists are now bigger? What are you eating man?!

I said snug. Not that it doesn’t fit. Check back with me in another 6 weeks of quarantine.

Doesn't take much -- a bag of salty chips and a few beers and --bloat---

My SKX 009 rotating bezel has been my fitbit, as of late. I've been taking advantage of a more simple life w/less distractions. I can't work and I can't see my wife, since she is stuck in The Philippines. Might as well get out there and run.

I am looking forward to the day that the smartwatch is obsolete. When I see people wearing them it reminds me of the people who wore cell phones in their belt holsters during the 90s or people who would walk around all day with their bluetooth in their ear during the 00s.

Also, 75% of the people I see wearing Fitbits look like they are not in very good shape.

I would really like the functionality of the WHOOP, Garmin, or Fitbit, but I don't want to wear anything like that on my wrist.

Anyone else agree?

Hahahahahah this was a good post. I don’t know about the bracelet getting tighter but what I can tell you is that since the lockdown I personally have been eating more and it has affected al facets of my training. I went from running sub 4 minute km to doing 5 min km since I have been eating more and being lazy

Hahaha, this is the most original way our “mechanical” watches can tell us “mechanically” that we’re unfit :-)
Personally, I’m snacking a lot but I’m also lucky to be able to exercise as long and far as I wish to since I’m in a mountain village.
Here, I’m able to do some 30km on my mountain bike daily.
