Melbourne Early Spring GTG!

To celebrate Melbourne coming Spring and Stevo's acquisition of his new Exp II 42mm...

Let's do a GTG which is long overdue in my opinion!

Big Boss has suggested chinese food this time round, have not lock in for a location or date yet...thinking next week or the week after.

I personally vote for Red Silks (in the CBD), yummy food and atmosphere.

Open to suggestions now!

Mark - the more the merrier! I was thinking next Friday evening too, if no one oppose. I find out if Red Silks can accommodate this bunch of Rolexers next Friday evening.

Ben - will be awesome for you to join us!

Linh - wear your best watch and you can bring some for show and tell!

Now.........where is Stevo and Kai?!!

Stevo: any other Melbourne members we are forgetting?

Yes, I can make it without too much trouble I expect

Jed would most possibly be interested.

Kai (2careless) may also be interested.

Hey Brandon, red spice road has some awesome food, be prepared to loosen the belt...:)

as the floor plan is fairly open and it does get quite busy, could we try for one of the corner type tables, might give us some privacy to ogle as the beauties out on display ?
btw, if your doing the booking, count me plus two at this stage. If you like, i can do the booking etc,etc....let me know and thanks for taking the initative to organise this.

Hey guys,

Just enquire about the booking on next friday...

We can get an early bird book which starts at 6pm - 7:45pm or

Start at 8.30pm till close...

I have tentatively make the reservation for 10 WISs next Friday (7th October ) evening @ 8.30pm.

I'm not sure if it might be too late for some (too hungry!) at 8.30pm start or too short for some for the early bird booking!

We can cancel this booking for this venue and go somewhere else?

I think the 6 pm start is good but given the short time frame out of there by 7.45pm just wondering if we're better off going for a 8.30 time slot

Well a lot of guys will be attending coming straight from work.

I invited a very interesting horologist/watchmaker today. I hope he can attend as I'm sure a lot of guys will find him a great person and resource for watch repairs.

or we can try another place... China Red on Bourke St next to JB Hifi... great value and nice dumpling... we can do 6-8:30 or something

I am happy with 6pm... wonder if we need special security considering the value of watches being displayed on the night

I'm cool with China Red, maybe we need to check for availability?

things just happen so seamlessly with organisng a gtg,
Thanks all, esp Brandon and Linh, much appreciate the quick coordination......

imagine if this was a sydney GTG, we'd have to spend about 4 pages of post just to agree on a date to meet let alone the venue....

ok, best head back to the trenches...... I can feel the "Incoming" mortar attacks from our northern neighbours..... ;-)

cheers
