I was kidding. Didn’t realize so many people on here would take it seriously and get defensive about it

Noneya. As in what boxes I check isn't anybody's business. Nobody helped me pay for my Rolex and nobody is going to tell me when and how I can wear it. Good grief!!!!

Well, when we are living in a new society where rights are being taken away people get a bit snarky.

Look, occasionally my watch takes a shower with me. Does that count as a water connection?

Ha ha I took my watch into the shower for the first time recently and now I am hooked. Get to shampoo my hair and my watch at the same time. Both came out cleaner than they went in.

Doesn’t get better than that

Funny. Rolex would have to confiscate like 90% of all watches in circulation :)

Apologies if I ruined your day

Let's see how beaten up yours are, then. Presumably, you've fought off a great white, while arc welding on an oil-rig at about 60m?

BTW, I don't think Rolex gives a crap if people take care of them or not.
If it's beaten up, they make more on service; if it's pristine, there's hardly any work to do. Win/win for them.

If Rolex did the above - they would go bankrupt. Rolex is not surviving on WIS alone! They need all kinds of people and show-offs are the majority!

I have taken mine surfing in shark infested waters off the coast of South Africa. Also play golf with it, take it snorkeling in the carribean and on safari in the middle of Africa many times.

That’s why I love my Rolex. I don’t have to baby it. I can wear it, live my life to the fullest and don’t have to worry about it. I can count on it when I am sitting 200 feet in the surf out the back and need to get back to work in time for a meeting

Some reasons for returning it are:
  • Only ever worn with a suit, in a business setting

  • You are too scared to remove links/screws yourself
  • It only lives in a safe
  • You bought it as an “investment”
  • You bought it to impress other people
  • You think the hang tag is equally important as your watch
  • Your Rolex diver has never been in the ocean

Who else agrees Rolex should enforce this policy?
I think the quarantine is getting to you mate!

Do agree that a Rolex should be worn and enjoyed though.

Still waiting to collect my first Rolex, but the first point would probably apply - spend most my day in a suit.

Along with crotchety members.

Guess I underestimated how many people buy sports Rolexes as jewelry and not as sports watches

Thought that was obvious.

In looking at the list, I thought I could check off one of them, but then realized I purchased my current Rolex (and, now, only Rolex) not to impress my then girlfriend, but to make a point. She told me that buying another Rolex was ostentatious. So, I bought my GMT Master.

I still have the GMT Master!

My 3 year old Z-Blue spontaneously stopped in March.

I think Rolex should absolutely insist that it is returned.

The question is, how?

1st rule of comedy - if you have to explain it, it failed.

Agree that the other types of posts (omg I cant get my Rollie) are annoying.

I agree and I think if you haven't been to the moon within 1 year of getting a speedie you should have to give it back.

Man, 65% of the guys who own Ferraris drive them super slowly in suburban neighborhoods. Enjoying things even though they're overkill -- that's part of the fun in life!

Agree 100%.

Let’s enjoy our rolexes, strap them to our arms and go on an adventure. One day we can look down at them, all beaten up and scratched but with one helluva story to tell
