Incoming - BP FF Flyback chrono

Yesterday I exchanged as a straight swap a boring, mass machine made Rolex Submariner 114060 with a retail price of £6450 for a piece of high horology on a totally different level to Rolex and can't seriously even be compared.
It retails for £14200, has beautiful hand finishing, isn't mass produced, has a flyback chronograph movement beating at 5hz and even beats my Submariner on accuracy.
I am now the proud owner of a Blancpain fifty fathoms bathyscaphe flyback chronograph in black ceramic.
The only advantage a Rolex is brand recognition with increasing values, sure the Blancpain will depreciate but unlike 90% of Rolex buyers, I am actually interested in horology, I choose to buy the best watch I can for £8500 and not the best investment opportunity.
I do wonder why I ever bought the Submariner, probably let myself get caught up in the stainless steel craze, you live and learn!

Excellent choice. Blancpain FF is totally on a different level compared to the Sub IMO. But sadly only a true watch enthusiast will understand that.

Get out of here with that crap. Congrats on the Blancpain , I like that watch a lot bought a few times almost and one day may still, but it's nowhere near a sub or how a Rolex feels on my wrist. I just think its a nice chrono and like black watches, movement is a nicely finished but looks pretty sterile. Congrats again, to each their own but it sounds like your really trying hard to convince yourself and everyone else.

I appreciate people have tastes and different opinions but to believe the Blancpain is nowhere near a sub is total CRAP to use your lovely and polite language.
The difference in quality is simply a fact, it cannot be argued in any way.
Only people who have no knowledge of watchmaking could think that, those that buy Rolex as investment but are not interested in horology, fair enough they can do that and buy what they like.

Sweet watch, I kind like BP’s approach of adding complications to an existing model. The Bathyscaphe with a calander and moonphase is wild.

Congrats on the watch. It's always a nice thing when you can take advantage of market values to get something else you wanted.

I have to say I am rather amused by some of the comments above. At the end of the day these things are very objective when it comes to quality, finish etc. There shouldn't be much of a debate.

Congrats. I swapped my sea dweller for a 500 Fathoms, other than the lack of a bracelet option it's been a great upgrade.
