+1 the discontinued lacquer blue dial is very unique and special!

Agreed. Has my husbands Smurf and compared it to the new version over at DavidSW. While the new one is nice, I much prefer the older version. The black dial version is just not as special. And to me a bit of laziness on the part of Rolex.

I love it; a full PM watch that doesn’t scream it from across the room to non-Rolex folks. One I’d love to have in the collection someday for sure.

I must respectfully disagree with this comment. I have a buddy with the all blue dial, to me the all blue just feels out of place. It looks meh at best. The black dial with the blue bezel just pops! It’s completely under stated and is one of my favorite pieces.

I gotta disagree with you on this one! I think the old model is so much nicer. But I also think the old LV is nicer than the new…

I'll have to respectfully disagree with this comment as well. As beautiful as the blueberry is (I do think its truly amazing), the black dial can look a bit too under stated and "ordinary" for a precious metal piece. The white font lacquer blue dial is exclusive to the 116619LB and the matching shade of glossy blue on the bezel/dial combo is what makes Smurf unique and gives it the edge imho.
With that said, both are my personal stealth wealth grails, and I wish I can add both to my collection...

Couldn’t stand Smurf, whitewashed blue dial and bezel. While 126619 is a gorgeous piece, in spite the fact bezel is same colour. Combo with black dial had me smitten first time I saw it alive, and could not consider that purchase for more than a second. Got it on the next day!

I don't know but the black dial on my 126610LV is gorgeous and lower key than the 116610LV with the green dial.

In the same way the 116619LB with the blue dial is too loud for my tastes and the new 126619lb is quietly cool and stealthy..

To each their own but I'd not call it laziness on Rolex's part.

The first sub I ever tried on in an AD was the Smurf around 2006 in Mexico. I had no clue about watches and the lady said it was $25k. I was floored as I had never spent more than 400 on a watch to that date. Point is I picked that out of the hundreds to try on so I’ve always liked it. I wasn’t able to get one mentally and financially until recently and it stings a bit. Around 4 years back could have bought one sitting in the AD thinking…. soon. Oh well.

Ask that said I tried on this new 41mm 619 and it is a dream. Perfect.

OP enjoy it!

Maybe the MSRP already has a huge premium built in?

This is the first time Rolex has ever made a solid gold sub with a black dial and a blue bezel. It is special !!

Prefer the 41mm version. The Smurf was too smurfy. :) Too much blue for my tastes. The black dial gives the blue bezel contrast. It pops more. The blue bezel is enough to tip off any watch enthusiast what it is without being overdone.

But the ultimate in under the radar flex is probably the platinum day date 40 with ice blue dial and baguette markers. Trading at or over 100 lately and looks like a steel Timex or Datejust at a glance.

New version way better than old one in my opinion as never liked the shade of blue they used on the dial.

The Smurf was an amazing model but compared to the new model it looks out of place. This model is meant to be under radar for the true watch guy that wants something special that doesn’t turn heads. The black dial was the change this model needed. I have had both; I kept the 126619lb.

For me it must be because it’s wg. As a platinum and rg watch owner I do struggle with wg. I don’t fully understand it.

The blue and white metal combination is fantastic though.

The problem is 2 fold with this model.

1) Most ppl if they are going to drop $50k on a watch they want to know its gold. That is just the truth. WG looks like SS for 99% of ppl. This stealth wealth thing is fine and all but only like 1% of the population follow this mantra. Most will want to show they are wearing a $50k watch.

2) The black dial. It provide no ooomph or wow factor. They should have kept it with the blue dial or added a different color on the WG model imho.

Have seen it twice in the metal .Both sold,we were unfortunate, but fortunate for my bank balance .

It is a superb reference .Simply beautiful .Contrast between black dial and blue bezel added with a bit of bite from the polished centre link .

Its one you can wear ,because you dont have to cringe at every mark due to "market value fear".

Black and blue theme : I have the 116710BLNR and 1126710BLNR and both are dead compared to the 126619LB.
Its like ss pepsi owners thinking it can compare to the WG GMT . It cant.

I'm with this comment. On 1, wearing a watch for yourself vs for others is why I keep mine tucked under the sleeve most times. I'm still surprised when people notice and make a comment but I know a lot of people out there need the attention. On 2, I really wished they didn't change to a black dial. I like the current but I loved the previous version.

I’ve been eyeing this one for a while now. It’s a total stunner and very unique in the current Rolex lineup. I have a DD40 on the way so I’m not in a position to pull the trigger. Woe is me
