Different finishing. But the end result is equally impressive.
Some even prefer the finishing of the GO. I like both.
More chamfering does not mean better finish no matter what Tim says. :)

This is a great video of GO:

BP is really F.Piguet. BP of old is long gone. It's marketing.
Impressive company nevertheless. Just like GO is too.

Both are great watches. To me the SeaQ and FF are the "non plus ultra" in divers.

Love the new Sea Q. Does anyone know what materials the hands and applied indices are made of (Blue dial specifically) ?

In terms of finishing, I'm talking about the amount of hand finishing involved. I personally think that GO has better looking movements than Blancpain but most of the work is done by or on machines, although there is a lot of handwork in GO movements too. Blancpain's movements are less spectacular looking but there's a lot more hand finishing involved in both their movements and cases, which is why Blancpain is 50% more than comparable GOs. To keep it within the Swatch Group, one could legitimately argue that the Omega Seamaster 300M has a more spectacular looking movement than then the Blancpain but the Omega is mostly machined finished while the Blancpain is mostly hand finished. GO splits the difference, and the prices of these respective divers (circa $5k for the Omega, circa $10k for the GO, and circa $15k for the Blancpain) reflect this.

GO is also Swatch Group

The BP has a beautiful looking movement befitting the brand. I do not find it any less appealing. just different.
But the GO finishing isn't any less. It's equal. There is handfinishing as well as you say.

The reason for the extreme price difference is wages. An East-German person makes up to 73% less than someone of West-Germany.
And the Suisse make on average even more.

Just one link, there are plenty:

Yes, I'm aware that GO is part of the Swatch Group, which is why it's placed above Omega and below Blancpain in price as well as quality. GO makes a great watch but Blancpain is a more hand-finished product, albeit arguably a less spectacular product. Whether or not that's important is a matter of debate. Yes, wages play a role, although a 73% wage reduction is absurd, but so does the hand finishing and brand placement. For what it's worth, I own one watch from both brands and like them both very much and consider both to be great values in an age when a mass-produced Submariner sells for more than either on the grey market, although I have several Rolexes, albeit at MSRP, as well.

Hope to join in 2022 with this one :

And agree, the wage difference is absurd , it's so unfair.
But I would think the watchmakers in Glashütte are the ones in the -43.3% category. Still crazy but better than 73%...
