Cartier Tank

Hi All,

I was wondering what people's thoughts/opinions are on the Cartier Tank w/mechanical movement. I saw one in the "A Man and his watch" book, and it looked kind of intriguing.

I have a Tank Solo XL - it's actually a pretty large watch. For reference, my wrist is about 6.7".

Overall I've been very pleased with it. Generally runs +2 to +4 seconds per day.

My understanding is that it now uses an in-house movement and the case is very thin - under 9mm thick.

I like Cartiers. They have a classic look. Owned a Tank MC, traded it for another watch.
I highly recommend anyone buying a Cartier try it on first. Don’t buy it based on an Internet picture. Sizes surprise and some do not sit well on some wrists.

Tank XL above looks great to me.

I love the Tank. Such a cool look. The XL that rich-96db posted above is sweet!

Many years ago I had a Seiko quartz that looked like a Tank. I lost it during a fist fight. I’m still bummed about that.

I have the quartz Tank Solo and while it’s on the small side, it’s a great watch and I enjoy wearing it. The Tank design is as classic as it gets.

Tanks are a great option for any collection...I believe a tank is meant to be a bit on the smaller side, more elegant and classy!
