What bracelet model is attainable?
Hey friends,
As a means to growing back my Patek collection, I’m considering looking into non-sports models that have bracelets that could be attained without being a VIP and also as a way to build up the relationship with my local AD. The caveat is that I live in a very humid hot place. I can’t wear leather straps most of the year. Money wise 40-60k range is something I’d be open to. What are some models that you might recommend? Any pics welcomed! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

There is none, zip, zilch, in the price range you named. Except a Twenty-4 automatic 7300/1200A if you or your partner are so inclined.
Or possibly the new 4947/1A but that one might be difficult too. |

4947a should be quite doable. I was offered one a couple months ago without prior Patek purchase.

Yep, I have similar issue with weather. The issue is that most bracelet pateks are precious metals. So that is why above your indicated budget. And the ones that are affordable at retail price are steel and are all waiting list pieces (perhaps that’s why they are all waiting list watches: light and affordable). Perhaps your best shot is the new 4947/1A Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

So to be clear, you’re willing to spend 40-60k on any patek essentially just to build a relationship to buy what i assume is a 5711/5712 or aquanaut? Why not just spend the extra 60k and buy one grey market and be done with it? If your building a relationship the question should be, what pieces can i buy and dump and not lose a ton of cash while i wait for X model. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Build up the relationship for what model?
If you are looking past sports models then why not just go grey in the first place? |

Yea I’ve had 5167, 5712, 5164, all of which I bought grey unfortunately (all when they could be gotten under MSRP!) now it’s not about getting those back… just exploring the brand beyond the hype. And I want to do it the right way. Because I’m no rush. So those judging me for not going grey, don’t waste your time. Not about that.. been there done that. PS: my old incomings are all here. Yes I had seen a world timer on rose gold. It’s beautiful! I don’t see it offered on the website. Would that be discontinued? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

5130/1R is discontinued thus less likely to be found at AD. Threadstarter also stated a budget of 40-60k (USD assumed). Possibly at market price, but MSRP is >70k if I recall? If buying grey then a 5130/1R is of course possible as are scores of other models. At 60K OP could get an Aquanaut…

I think some people suggest goes grey because it might be cheaper on non-sport models. Most people want to establish relationship with the boutique even no discount because they want to get sport models later on.

The issue is as the OP realized they don’t have much in the current catalogue that fits the bill. 1 watch and it’s a new release.

I’m not sure if the OP would be up for it but if a RubberB or similar strap would fit and be acceptable, then it would open up the rest of the collection and work in Miami’s humidity.
As others have pointed out, current model choices are very limited. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Patek Philippe has not been known for their watches with bracelets historically. As others mentioned, the WT had bracelets. Some of the ACs were available with bracelets, namely the 5396. The 5960/1A which is an AC chrono is available with a bracelet. Besides that most of the others are in the higher price range (over 100k) or part of the sports watch collection (Nautilus).

If I’m not mistaken there was a 5960 with metal bracelet as well which I think is nicer than the 4947, though that watch might have been discontinued. Some ADs might still have them as it’s a slow seller as someone on the forum still managed to get a 5936 20th anniversary recently although it was a limited production release.

Those are long long gone unfortunately. If you call around there’s an off chance you could find a 5130/1R. Great looking piece.

Might be a solid lead for OP if he’s not set on local. I’d personally ask for a discount as they’ve clearly had it for years. That or pray for good favor down the line.

my experience is that they don't discount or bundle but might help you down the line. maybe they make an exception for a discontinued piece who knows.

4947 is what came to mind, but I’ve also seen 5396 models on bracelets but they are expensive. WB has a unique 5120 on a bracelet that looks really cool but it’s a small watch
