Would you sell 5711 white dial for 5320g?

I would not. I don’t love the 5320g.

IMHO 5320G is a much better watch than 5711.
I prefer 5320g to all Patek "dress" complications. It's a great grand complication at a "reasonable" price. Now, whether it makes sense to sell 5711 in this crazy environment to fund anything, that's a different story. |

If you like it.... For sure. But consider your relationship perhaps with your AD pending on how you got that 5711. Personally I wouldn't but I found other PC from Patek more appealing.

I would not trade away my 5711 blue for 5320G. If I had 5711 white maybe, as I am torn about that one just like I am torn about 5320G. The latter is a little too retro for my taste. Very much like the dial layout but not the color and numerals and not sure about the multiple-step lugs. If there was a 5320G or P with black dial and baton markers I might do the trade.

Your perspective matters more than anyone's. But if asked I'll not do it.

Nope.
Would be a lot harder to replace if you decided to get it back one day |

The 5320g is a fantastic piece however I’d keep the white and get a 5320 from AD. You could also ask for a sports bundle, new aquanaut or 5164 may be more possible than another nautilus with a little wait.
If you’re considering trading for a used 5320, make sure you get some cash your way (crazy but that’s the current state of the market these days) Also be sure first that you wouldn’t want it back again as finding a good example discontinued nautilus will be both hard and costly to replace later. |

Nope. Nothing against the PC, but it's easier to get than a white dial 5711.

No. No way.
One is a discontinued model of arguably the most desirable steel sports watch made. The other is a dress watch that is readily available and trades at a discount to the retail price. Better question is how much extra cash would you need to consider this trade. I think 15-20K might be reasonable. Apples to Oranges… Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

You are asking a very difficult question with giving more info
i have a 5712 and a 5320 and they are both great. the 5320G is Patek Philippe true DNA. from ref 1518 the debuted in 1941 until ref 5320 the debuted in 2017. you have the two aperture windows, the moon phase, the radial date window at 5 o'clock (and later added the leap year indicator at 4 and day/night indicator at 7). i love my 5320 and wear it work whenever possible. on the other hand i live in a really hot country. the 5712 serves a great purpose when its summer time as wearing a leather bracelet in summer is not a good idea. if i had to keep one watch and one watch only then the 5320G is staying. but if i can keep both i would keep both and especially if that was your only nauitlus as replacing it won't be easy.

I would definitely do that.
Working on the assumption that you know the implications of the discoed 5711 continuing to appreciate etc, the 5320 is much more watch and it seems like a great time to cash in IMO. That said, in 5 years time, would you rather have the value of the nautilus or the beauty of the 5320? |

If Patek adheres to it's stated strategy of maintaining low production of stainless models in favor of complicated PM pieces there will always be more complicated PM pieces and relatively fewer stainless ones. Add to that the fact that in order to obtain a stainless Patek you now have to buy $500K of PM pieces, whereas it used to be $100K would suffice, it would make perfect sense to do this trade. Go for it.

I was offered a 5320g from my AD and passed as I wasn’t drawn to the watch and I didn’t want to hurt my chances of being next in line for a SS Nautilus.

I much prefer the 5320G but due to the current market condition I wouldn't, would be irreplaceable if you wanted to get another 5711 down the line

5320 is a better watch but based on what is going on in the market I'd keep the 5711.

I think this is reality and people need to start being... More accepting. There's going to be different people into different watches for different reasons..... You don't have to like it but you can respect it.

I’m sure I’m in the minority but I had a 5711 and sold it (for a nice profit admittedly). I found the clasp tinny and hard to use. And the “porthole” case far from Gentas best work, a bit silly looking.

Yes. Plenty of room for everyone. Although one group tends to cause pricing increases more then the other. At least on the “hot” models and the 5711 is the best example of that.
