Lamshanks, it is a hard question to answer. It depends on what the person does on a daily basis. If the person does not work, then both can be nice options (or can be an overkill). If the person is working in the office in a more conservative job, the royal oak may be appropriate. If the person works in a more trendy environment, the 5164R may be nice. But these are "non entry level" pieces for daily wear. What a lucky person receiving the gift no matter which you choose. I love both! (Sorry, my views may be subjective, but that is how I see it from my own background).
