The M Etain went up quite a bit too, from $169 to $250 a bottle this year. I'm probably only going to get a handful this year and focus on Hundred Acre and Favia.

Is this an investment or is it for consumption?
My cousins buy some very expensive wines via allocation (Screaming Eagle, Hundred Acre…). They rarely drink the expensive ones and use them as investments to be sold/traded with others.

I'm in for my allocations of Maiden and M Etain this year but the fact that the "baby" blends are starting to get to the $250-400 range is starting to get a bit absurd. Have passed on Harlan the past few years. Its just too much at that price. there's no secondary market value at these prices.

I won't buy it unless I plan to drink it. With the exception of a few I've really enjoyed a lot of the more expensive Napa wines that are out there, they've been worth the effort to acquire and drink.
