Gold models in the Middle East

Wearing colored gold being deemed not acceptable for men in some countries in this part of the world, can someone report back on availability of gold models for men in Saudi Arabia, Oman, Qatar, Kowait?

Are they scarce like in other part of the world? Or are they being supplied at all?

Same like every other place.
I’ve been dozens of times to the countries you mentioned and met plenty men who don’t take the teachings literally, nor is anybody bothering you if you wear a PM watch

So you were hoping to show up to the dubai ad and pick up 5 gold Daytonas eh? So yea guys there’s dont wear gold too often therefore there is a massive amount of gold rolexes in stock. Come by and check it out. There’s rose gold chocolate dial Daytonas that have been sitting on the shelves for years. Strange that no one bothered to buy one for an immediate 10000 dollar profit.

Thats old. I've seen and know many guys from there that wear coloured gold.

That thinking is old mentality that never gets followed (well hardly) these days.

The majority of Muslim men won’t wear actual gold. Gold plates yes.

I live in Abu Dhabi, I wear a yellow gold 2 tone Datejust and never received any issues.

Islamically, men aren't supposed to wear gold but to be honest nowadays it's each to their own. I'm aware I'm not supposed to do it but I also don't drink alcohol or do drugs so I guess wearing gold is the lesser of the evils...

Also, the situation in AD's is worldwide there isn't any part of the World that's untapped. That kind of thinking is just ridiculous.

I went to Dubai Mall Rolex AD in Fashion Avenue, the largest Rolex boutique in the World and you guessed it...full of 28mm Lady Datejusts.

Fully acceptable.

So many in fact that they just leave them abandoned for the next new shiny one…

Just for entertainment value as we veer off topic for a moment.

UAE here - the shelves are empty of all things gold (there is the odd two tone piece around). That’s not because they’re not supplied, but because of the insatiable appetite for gold out here.

Day dates can be as hard to get as sports models.

Perhaps slightly less common on balance. But Kuwait was where one of my YG omegas was purchased. They have some stunning gold watches over there.

Wearing them might be Haram but selling them isn't

Thanks guys, specifically didn't mention the UAE since this place lives on flashiness.
Will check Jeddah and report back.

For information, impossible to find colored gold Omegas, Montblancs etc in Tabuk, Saudi.

Alright I’m lost/under cultured. Is gold considered too ostentatious in Islam and thus frowned upon???

Gold is probably equivalent to you buying a swatch in plastic. The means of the ruling elite in these countries if far beyond those of commoners like us.

Honest Question: Never knew wearing gold was verbotten. Wow!

i do have a weird question, then why did the Saudi King give a USA President a gold necklace? This IS NOT political or whatever, just an honest question why they'd give a massive gold necklace to someone as a gift if wearing gold is forbidden by law?

Got it. Learn something new all the time. Though it’s a shame. Generally great skin tones there for it

No idea why they did that.

The currency under Islam used to be gold so you can trade it as a male just not wear.

It is a shame, I would love a day date! My only option would be a platinum one

Basically...

First and foremost, the actual reason as to why Muslim men are not allowed to wear gold is because of the prohibition to that effect mentioned by Prophet Mohammad.

As far as the wisdom behind that prohibition goes, we can say that Islam is a religion that focuses on the afterlife. The adornments of this world are only ephemeral in nature, and the less attachment with this world the better spiritually speaking.

Gold has primarily been created by God as a type of currency to facilitate trade. To now use it as a type of adornment would extend the scope of its functionality beyond its purpose for mankind.

At the same time, Islam did allow women to wear gold as an adornment, but that is mainly a concession granted to them. Men and women differ in concessions and thus different concessions/balances exist between them. Adornments like gold and silk are perceived to enhance the beauty of a woman. The beauty on part of men however lies in simplicity. Gold is thus regarded as overkill and therefore this concession cannot extend to men.

Little update.
Visited 3 ADs in Jeddah, many datejusts two tone and steel only for both men and women, plenty of day dates (gold or platinum) of all sizes including the "rainbow" ones and some cellinis.
For professional models, only saw some two tone yachtmasters, a steel yachtmaster 2 and a two tone one, and a rose gold yachtmaster on oysterflex - nothing else.
