Could it be...
Hi guys, my AP diver was giving the good time before I got my 5712 and it was the only one I whore, but since I have the PP I tend to wear much less the AP, but every morning I wind her up around 20 times.
Now after about 2 days having put the exact time on both, the PP is of by 7 seconds, the AP by 34, could it be because even if wounded the lack of wearing it puts it off? It advances overtime by the way, what is the best position to keep it from advancing? Can't see where it could have been magnetized in any case. If you guys know anything that might help thanks for pitching in. |

Well that's your AP telling you to wear it more.

Body temp will have an effect on the timing, as will the orientation throughout the day.
You don’t say how long you’re wearing the AP for, but if you’re not active enough to wind it fully, then (as you should know) it won’t be in a state of isochronism for all that long, and as the mainspring gets to a nearly unwound state, the timing isn’t as accurate. If you can monitor its offset each 24 hours, placing the watch in a different position overnight, then you’ll soon find which orientation increases or negates the positive offset. You’ll either have to live with that or send it to APSC for finer regulation. |

I've noticed this with a few of my watches (AP and Rolex). They gain a pretty significant amount of time as they get to the end of the power reserve. I assumed it was because the main spring doesn't have as much tension as it should to keep proper beat rate. When I wear them consistantly they keep good enough time for me. Usually around +2 to +4 seconds a day.

Maybe don't call the old girl a whore and see if that improves her attitude?

Could it be...
My 44mm crown up will lose around 1sec overnight. Crown down it will gain 3-4secs overnight. When wearing, it gains about 2secs for 8hrs.
My 42mm ROO, crown up or down gains about 1sec overnight. When wearing, it stays the same for 8hours And on winder (I do not put my APs on winder anymore), the 42mm would lose 5secs per day. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Me too. Mainly because I rotate so often. But I can say my DD40 is currently the most accurate of all my watches.

Well wore it for 24hr and I am still at +15 sec in 24hr, not very good, we'll see what happens in a few days.
