After finally getting to spend some time with the white dial (which I did not buy), i just have one slight concern- Is it a little too dressy? I do wear dress clothes 5 days a week so not a huge deal but the watch did seem pretty "busy" esp with the fluted bezel. I'm struggling seeing this watch on my wrist while doing a Saturday morning car wash. Would love your thoughts....thx boys!! Btw-I'm waiting for the blue

Could weld on some crown guards. I think it is pretty versatile Rick, should be able to fit in to any activity I figure.

I wouldn't even wear a G-Shock when washing my car or bikes, never mind a SkyD. Whenever I'm done, my hands are always covered in tiny cuts and I never remember them happening so I'm obviously jamming my hands in tight spaces. That would mean my watch and vehicle scratching the living daylights out of each other.

I love the SkyD but I'm not sure it's an everyday wearer.

For me the white is the most dressy, and the black the most sporting, with the blue somewhere in the middle.

Having said that pretty much any Rolex aside from the Cellinis can be dressed up or dressed down.

I like my divers so I wouldn't have the Sky D as an only watch, but it would make the perfect addition to my SD43 and Mille Miglia as a dressier but still sporty all rounder (with the dual time zone function I'm "missing" in my collection)

Your good to go IMO. It’s a sport watch with an albeit, dressier feel due to the bezel. I feel it can be worn with just about anything.

Would it be your only one? If it's part of a collection, then what's the problem? Strap on another Rolex to wash the car (if you must wash the car with a Rolex on.

Agree the white does stand out a bit brightly, yet for your dress work and washing/waxing car is fine. Have the blue dial and it is truly a daily beater of sorts dress/jeans with house/car/etc work 24/7 and is fine.

The fluted bezel gives it a dressy trait, but all the rest screams spot watch on the SS SkyD (except, maybe, for the complication). They even changed the markers to baton only...

Having said that, I wouldn't wash my car with it either, or any other expensive watch, for that matter.

I totally get what you're saying. It is on the dressier side of sporty, IMO. But no more so than a DJ, which I think works in the majority of life situations.

Put it this way. I think it would be the perfect watch to wear on a Saturday morning to hand your keys to the car wash guys and have them take care of it for you.

The blue dial won’t make the watch less busy looking. Due to the size, I think it is sportier than DJ. I don’t wear my watch while washing the car.

I’d say its dial is too “busy” to be dressy.
Better had they used a small window for the 2nd TZ instead of the big wheel.
If big wheels are fetching, I don’t understand why they kept the date window.

The Sky Dweller is tremendous....And if youre interested in legibility, white is the best option. Not to mention, in person, the standout color. As far as daily wear, mine was in the hot tub last night. Coming from a guy with quite a few pieces, I think its going to be legendary.

Car wash? When something falls out of my pocket & I have to reach under the seat for it, I take my watch off... Why would I put unnecessary damage on it?

No, like the DD and Nautilus, it's a nice hybrid. A too dressy piece here would be on a leather strap with hook lugs and a simple dial.
