Purchase neither for diving as dive watches, except only as backup, have been replaced by wrist worn "dive computers".
That being said, it allows you to choose which one appeals to you more for daily wear. |

Have both, would definitely go SubC if you have to choose as one and only for now.

Great choices but the Sub is a Rolex icon of the highest order. The glidelock is a work of engineering art. Easylink is a good feature but the glidelock is on another level of genius.

I'll be honest, if you haven't already I'm assuming the BLNR is sold, unless you held it? From my experience within a day they are sold.
If it has sold, it makes this choice easy! I am going with BLNR, I feel its more of a statement, more rare etc. And I like that blue! |

I would get the Submariner as my 1st Rolex watch. In the end, like most here in the forum, you will eventually buying both.

Got a SubC ND, BLNR & Hulk. SubC ND is in the safe as I never wear it (still has all tags!) and even the Hulk gets bypassed for the BLNR.
BLNR was my first Rolex and in my eyes, I made the right choice. Though the glide lock is amazing and what I miss the most when I am not wearing the Hulk |

I was having a same issue with you before I got my SubC Date. The only reason that I didn't pick BLNR because of the PCL, as I don't want to be worried about scratches. And I think that SubC is more versatile. Anyway you can't go wrong with these two.

I know most people on the forum don't like the PCL's, but I think it makes the watch look x10 better. I would definitely go with the BLNR, but either way, you can't go wrong. You should try both, you'll know which one you fall for.

Boy, you speak with such authority, how long have you worked at Rolex HQ? What can we expect at Basel? Is there a price rise headed our way? If so, will all those "young people" still be able to afford BLNRs at ~$11k? Do tell |
