Trade Advice needed for 16700

Hi Friends,

I have been gushing over a Pepsi 16700 for years now and now one has surfaced with all the trimmings (B&P). I am considering a trade for my 1991 16600 T dial with B&P + $4,000 cash, pricing the 16700 at $10,500. Do you think this is a fair trade? I personally think the GMT's prices have hit a ceiling at the 10K handle, but who knows in our world.

Cheers

I just sold my M serial 16600 for $6800.00. The trade plus 3kish would be a good deal

But I personally wouldn’t do it. Miss my SD. Still convinced it’s the best Rolex ever made. In my opinion of course

Thank you my friend! I really do love my SD, and I managed to find the t dial I've been looking for quite some time, which wasn't easy. However, the 16700 is my grail. First world problems.

Considering a cash purchase, is $10.5K a fair price? I think it's a bit high.

Trade Advice needed for 16700

The last two Pepsi 16700 here in the Canadian pre owned market went for $5000 and $5300 USD. But no box or papers.

Note: last one sold on the Canadian forums was 5 months ago

I love the GMT 16700, but that is absolutely not a deal I would do. Trust me, that watch is not 4K more watch than your 16600. I would keep your SD.

Seems like they're going more in the 8ish range.

I’d bet the person on the other side is itching for this to go through.

He wanted more. Thank you all for the counsel, you made it a very easy decision for me! Greatly appreciate it.

Not even close. The 16700 trades at a discount to the 16710, and only the most minty, pristine, and complete 16710s have been flirting with 5-figure prices.

I think you made a good call. Hang on to your watch and be on the look out for a nice 16710 example. But don't flip...add.

i went through the same questions, i bought my SD new in 2005 and was about to flip it for a 16710. at the end i did wait longer to be able to afford buying a full set 16710 while retaining the SD. I don't regret it for a second, both watches are grails to me, yet different enough to have both (1 for travel, 1 for anything close to water).

Cool. Did you trade your SD or keep it?
