Love the blue in real life more than in pictures. The blue colour is "Chamaleonic", it changes according to the light...from ocean blue to dark.....incredible!

I wore the similar invicta for a bit, then tag aquaracer for 9 years. Same shape, same functionality. i'm not a DJ person either.

In the end i bought the 37mm, although initially i thought it was going to be too big. I love it.

It's sporty, it's shiny, it's elegant, it's practical, it's gorgeous.

I've always wanted a sub or a sea dweller, but too big and i also didn't want anyone saying i'm wearing husband's watch
Recently someone posted a wife/gf wearing a sub and it actually looks fantastic. Maybe i'll dare one day :)
Pure class! Effortlessly elegant and sporty at the same time. Few models manage to blend these attributes so perfectly IMHO.

Thanks Paul. Congratulations on your YM. I have been told that Rolex in KL have platinum on stock. I am traveling there so will check.

Whoa Will, let me know how you get on! Actually, maybe not. I can't afford any more watches this year so I think my platty dial will be a pre-loved piece in about a year or so

Good luck

I own both the platinum/stainless steel and rose gold/oysterflex yachtmaster and can only back up what has been said in the previous posts especially the input from the ladies... really good to read.

If I had to make a one watch decision, this would be the one I would have.

Of the Rolex's I see around the waterfront on the wrists of "sailors" (not power boaters), I estimate 80% to be Submariners, 15% DateJusts and 5% GMT's.

Racers use digital watches with count down feature or use specific timers for starting sequence timing.

Just saying....
It's true the prizes are usually Subs, but I know several folks who wear yachties.

I also wear an Omega AT Chrono while racing, hell with digital.

The YM is about to be my first dip into the Rolex pool. I can’t get over how awesome it looks in person

It’s a watch you really have to see in person to appreciate all it has to offer. They are beautiful pieces....

Why a Yachtmaster?

Wow... I have the same setup 40mm & 35mm with my wife & plan on getting my daughter the 29mm so we can be a trio family.

I never felt any involvement with the Yatchmaster until at the beginning of this month at the Italian embassy in Caracas, the official who attended me had the same watch that you had, and I could not stop seeing that beautiful metal bezel (platinum). It is a watch that I would surely like to have.

The 5 digit variation of the YM is one of the best looking 5 digit models along with the polar exp II

Because a Yachtmaster II is too expensive, that’s why!

I had two 5 digit SS/Plat Yachtmasters, only time I've ever bought the exact watch twice.
