All 3, depending on model
SS: Submariner, Daytona TT: Yachtmaster, SkyD or Daytona on white dial, GMTc, DateJust PM: Day-Date, Daytona Certain model look good on specific metal color, at least for me. |

The only SS I have an interest in is the BLNR.
Otherwise, I’m all about PM. So I’m buying nothing because the funds just simply don’t allow for it.

If limited to just one, and price was not a factor, it would be PM... WG BLRO to be exact. Close second would be SS, SD43. I just let go of the Bluesy for a TT SkyD, and I think that covers that base for me.

Although I am biased towards ss. But new gold Daytonas on oyster flex rubber look fantastic. I also like the platona and Day-Date in platinum, so hopefully one day will own one of those

I’d buy WG if I could afford it. I’m still working on my first and it will be SS.

I wouldn’t wear a PM Rolex for free, unless maybe it was on a strap.

Altho my last few pieces have been SS, I think the WG OF would most likely be my next Rolex if I was to buy one.

Stainless steel is my preference for Rolex with a few exceptions - Daydate (WG or RG w olive dial), RG YM on OF and WG Daytona on OF 116519LN.

Oh man, that is just gorgeous. If I didn’t have a white 500LN , that pic may sway me from waiting for a 5167A or 5711/1A Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro |

It would depend on your collection and what hole you are trying to fill. If just starting out I would get a SS SUB. then work you way to PM if you are going to stick with the brand.

That's a tough one for me...it would really depend on what mood in am in at the moment....lol...As I am sure most here understand and can relate to that when it comes to this hobby... And even if comes to watches my mind can do a 180 FAST.
If it were today...right now it would probably be a stainless white dial SkyD I'd submit thoughtful was buying a watch TODAY it likely though wouldn't be a Rolex. Cheers!! |

To my eye there are very few watches that look really good in two tone; I owned a TT datejust with blue dial and only sold it because it was too small at 36 mm. I think for some, two tone says you can’t afford solid gold so there is an image concern. There are some watches that seem to fit two tone like the bluesy Sub. It was a popular look at one point; my ex wife and I even had two tone wedding rings. The best answer, of course, is to buy what YOU like and not obsess about what others may think.

White gold Daytona with the blue dial....and after that the WG Dayton on oysterflex, WG Daytona with panda dial.....and finally DD Pt and WG.
As you can see....i am a modest man. |
