Rolex Explorer I - spotted in UK.

I know it's nothing crazy but for anyone in the market for a SS Rolex Explorer 1 in the 39mm size - they have one in the Watford Goldsmiths. It was there on the weekend.

Also seen in Prestons (Guildford High Street,) although the sales staff I dealt with I found to be quite obnoxious and un knowledgeable about watches, there's also Mappin and Webb next door but one. a nice shopping area and enough to keep her busy whilst I window shop.

Where have you seen a ss GMT in London out of interest? The Explorer 1 has become a waiting list piece in most stores.

Agreed. I went in there a few weeks back, Two young guys serving. As per usual, they had only TT and PM models in the window. I asked them if they had any SS stock available? One of them replied that they had many models in the safe and asked which model I was interested in? I said I wanted to purchase an LVc and would buy now if they had it. His colleague gave him a nudge in his side as if implying he should shut his mouth and they both smirked. I asked if they had one or not and they didn't answer.

I was interested in looking at the Rolex Explorer 214270 (39mm) as Id read about them but not actually handled one, I was ushered into the Rolex room and seated, the watch was placed face down with the strap touching the back of the case I quickly lifted the strap away and place the watch on its side with the bracelet trailing long behind it (as this is what I was taught by a watch maker) the response was dismissive and the comment was that it was ok as it had a sticker on the back.... I took off my 5513 and set about comparing them I politely chatted as I did this but the response was blunt and when I mentioned the edges seemed very sharp the comment was that after polishing the edges would soon dull down...... enough said.... I grabbed my Hat and 5513 back on my wrist I left. not the nicest of experiences......
