Anyone else bothered by someone else’s name on warranty card?
Just picked up a 114060. Can’t see myself ever giving this guy up. I bought it grey market 2 months old (nov 2017). It hurts me inside a little bit knowing that my name isn’t on the card
In a sense it makes me feel like it will never be “my” watch. Does anyone else get bugged out by this? Or am I just being insane lol Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

You will get over it soon. As long as Watch is what you want and 100% authentic you will be good

You'll get over it. Anyway, when the warranty expires bring it in for a service and you'll have your name on the papers then.

Doesn’t bother me. There’s a reason you went grey market

Maybe its the OCD in me, but I would want my name on the warranty card. Same reason I don't buy a used car. End of day it's more psychological then anything else.

I've heard, but can't confirm, that you can get a replacement card if you send the old one in to Rolex and pay a $50 fee. But someone else's name on the card wouldn't bother me, especially if I bought it used it is expected.

if its a watch im keeping long term, yes it bothers me and i would only buy new w/ name on papers.
If its a watch im going to move anyway at some point, i wouldn't care. |

I am certain a little bit of nail polish remover would wipe the name off. I have never had a Rolex with the name filled out on the card in my life so not sure which ADs do this?

If the name really bothers you, why didn't you buy new from an AD? Certain watches I own, for example, the marriage anniversary watch, I know I want to have my name on the watch so I was willing to pay full retail from an AD.

They’re supposed to do it Steve. It’s in the warranty terms

Lol here we go again.
Where I live, VN and Canada no problem. Everyone else please disregard as Rolex USA does things much differently. The last 70 or 80 pieces I purchased did not have my name on it so I suppose I am extra not special. Anyways, cheers Brother!! I will Be more regionally specific in the future. |

I haven't read the terms but all my Rolex and PAMs have my name on the warranty docs

For a moment I was surprised, as I know that buying new from an AD in the UK, the dealer insists on filling in the card. But I see that it is a preowned piece.

Very true. Have bought from a UK AD before and they were insistent on this point... As with most things, though, our friends in Italy do things their own way!

Nope. Haven’t seen the box or papers in years as they’re stored away

Even my SD43 that I got in Singapore Airport Duty Free didn’t have my name. Hmmm, do you ask for your name on the card Brother? Never in 25 years or so have I ever had my name on the paper or now the card.

In my experience, they absolutely insist on filling in the name in UK ADs.

It's not like you are going to look at your warranty card every day. Doesn't matter in the long run.

Would it bother you to have someone else's name on the title to your Porsche?
Now that you mention it, if I were to buy a 2nd hand watch, it would bother me plenty if someone else's name were on the Waranty card and i was handing over the cash to you. How would I know if it had, at some point, been stolen? |

But technically it should be there. From current 5 year Rolex SA warranty booklet: This guarantee is valid only if (1) the watch has been sold by an Official ROLEX Retailer, (2) the guarantee card has been completed in full by the official ROLEX Retailer at the time of purchase, and (3) the guarantee card is presented with the watch, either to to an official Rolex retailer or to one of the Official ROLEX Service Centres listed in this manual. Any work carried out by third parties will invalidate this guarantee We are fortunate that in much of the world Rolex does not seem to be too hung up on this point

Either way, you're not technically the first owner of the car. Same with grey market watches. The only way you will be the first owner of a Rolex is to purchase it brand new from an AD
