Hoping I can get some advice here on where the best place is to get a Rolex from an AD? It seems like the Daytona 116500 has a 3 year waiting list, so i started thinking about the Deep Sea 126660. I saw the previous post where people were getting 10% to 27% discounts 4-5 years ago, wondering if this would still apply to current date.

Would greatly appreciate everyone's thoughts on this.

Thanks,

10-27% on SS models I would imagine is wishful thinking with the current market

Sounds like I won't be getting anything between 1-10% off with this market?

I tried going to Raffi's at Yorkdale and RDV, both locations don't have either models in stock and will need to be put on a waiting list or require special order.

Discounts have dried up dramatically. On an in demand SS piece like that the owner would have to want to take care of you to receive a discount.

Yes times have changed. That said, if you develop a report with management the inventory is available. You just have to have some buying history.

Good luck

Looks like the 2018 Deep Sea you can't even be put on the waiting list. I ended up getting the older model. Which they said I can get within 2-4 weeks.

Hi. Born and raised in Toronto (Scarborough), now living in Ottawa for work. I ordered a BLNR from Raffi Jewellers in Yorkdale last weekend: went in, asked about availability (was told 3-6 months), ordered, and paid. First-time buyer, and no issues. However, this was the third Toronto AD (after the only Ottawa AD) had basically told me that I was politely out of luck, but to "feel free to come in and see what else was for sale". Not one even offered to put me on a wait list, and one refused to as they said the wait was over 2.5 years so they stopped taking names.

Can't wait to get it. I'll post pics!

Just received the Deepsea JC edition from Raffi's at Yorkdale. Took 2 weeks to deliver which was great. After the second day of wearing it, one of the screws came loose and was about to fall out, I was able to bring it back to have it screwed back in and they put some substance to tighten the screws.

Hello, first time poster/occasional lurker from Toronto here. I was just wondering what the best course of action is for purchasing a SubC Date in the GTA. I've recently reached a milestone in my life and want to celebrate by buying one watch that I will wear forever (I don't own any watches at all so this will be THE one for me), but every AD I call or go into (Raffi, Damiani, RDV) have all said there is a 4-6 month waitlist. I'm skeptical of this because I've also read stories on forums of people able to go in at random times with cash and have them pull out subs from the back. I want to build a relationship with an AD but I'm not sure how I can do that when they never have the one watch in stock that I want to buy. I'm just feeling kind of defeated at this point given that there's only 6 or 7 places I can try and over half of them have said no already.

I have seen subs not long ago in Raffi and just saw a SS GMT in the case, many times it's just being in the right place at the right time I think in the Toronto area. In Fla, you'll never see one in the case now.

My best advice would be to drop by in person as often as possible. They definitely have these in the back in most stores, if not in the case, so you will be able to get one with a little patience and kind inquiry.

Sorry if this has already been discussed, has anyone noticed a new Rolex store in downtown markham? I'm not sure if I saw the logo there or am I just dreaming.

Don't think Markham has a downtown, there's La Différence Time Centre, near the 407 and 404 which is an official Rolex dealer in Times Square mall IIRC. Don't know how long it's been there though...

La Difference moved to Markham downtown this month. It used to be at Times Square Markham.

Correction, losing track of dates. It’s moving in September.

Thanks. I couldn't find anything online. I actually stopped by Times Square today. Looks like they are packing up for the move.

Hopefully it will be a nice store, but they never have any models out and if you ask for a model they first look at each other then decide it they will show it to you (if it's in the back, or behind the cases).

Hopefully they will have some pieces out now as it will be a new store - only time will tell - I guess.
