Trying to scam me...

I have a watch listed on Chrono24 for sale. I have bought and sold watches there before. I received the attached email this morning. I noticed the email was not correct from Chrono24....total scam.

I confirmed through my Chrono24 account there was no such escrow placement. Anyone that would have mailed the watch, would have been out a BUNCH of money.

Just wanted to give everyone here a heads up....

“Reply us” incorrect sentence structure. And spacing between some words are doubled space which is also incorrect for them. And then the obvious “@mail... NO NO. Lol

You have their address and emails, why don't you notify the local police regarding this scam

Scam the scammer!

I would love to see that, But it’s unethical and couldn’t live with myself.

Very entertaining. I love the bad grammar

I can't wait to see how this unfolds. Get onto the police immediately and see if they can lure them out somehow.

Here is the latest. I did contact the Bethlehem PA police. They said they really couldn't do anything because I had not mailed the package (I'm sure they have bigger fish to fry). They were very nice and even called in a detective, but ultimately decided not to do anything.

I did also think about sending them something or trying to take their money, but I decided against that too. I AM thinking about running them around a little...

Tell them you no longer need to sell the watch that you just got notice that some Nigerian prince is sending you 500 million dollars.

Or string her along telling her you are too much in love with your watch and don’t know if you can part with it, because it will give you seperation anxiety and you will have spent all your money on shipping....... so you won’t be able to afford a therapist

Word is, the Bethlehem police stopped by at the mailing address, and asked what the heck was going on....lol. I suspect that will be that. Hopefully they will be scared enough not to try something like this again with someone else.

No, I think once the police knocked on their door, they stopped the shenanigans.

Building they were asking you to send to is Fred B Rooney building - 14 floor housing project in Bethlehem. Here’s another story featuring the building:

Email them back, tell them you are desperate, and will accept 10% less now. And keep us all posted please :)

Yes it's a creative use of street addresses, there would be confusion trying to deliver to 4 E 4th street, and they would definitely probably try to direct it to the multi=story building...all around a terrible scenario. You have to be so careful now with everything. One clue that comes up frequently is grammar..... an important tell.

She probably didn’t order a $30,000 watch online but my guess is that she responded to one of those craigslist ads that says “work from home and make $500 per day”. She was likely told that she’ll receive packages and then she should put them in another, larger box. Within hours a Nigerian or Russian freight forwarder will come by her house and pick up the boxes she received on the same day. Once they have the boxes she’s burned and they won’t pay her or use her again.
