Bracelets do have a Manufacturing code mine says 1.70 so first quarter 70 watch is first quarter 69 and bracelets get changed as they do wear out the chances are a 72 Sub will have had the bracelet replaced

Lots of talk on Vintage Rolex forum on Serial numbers and production times or years , a safer bet than a clasp code

Why a 72 ? I think a 1972 watch will be a 3 m serial number at least

Is this the kind of condition you're interested in?

It's as original as it gets imo... Unpolished full set original owner. original twin lock crown and tube, non bevel top hat. original crispy 9315 folded link oyster bracelet with all the goodies.

Sorry @SubKing, the OP asked for a watch in "good to very good" condition. I'm afraid yours is EXCELLENT.

Drsd? 1972 mk2

I can lay my hands on a full set 1972 full set DRSD for less than 30k!!! Better value than a 1680 red

Red Sub 1680

Looking for 1680 myself. Just spent some money on other watches so not sure I can spend on another one soon lol. Saw this at B&S but no box, I like it when the bazel is kinda grey/navy’ish

https://bulangandsons.com/collection...date-1680-w625

A local seller in Singapore also selling a complete set of MKIV but some say that they’re not a really good seller? I know the owner travel a lot to HK to buy watches. But yeah, I guess if there’s word of mouth that you’re not a good seller, one need to be careful?

SubKing - Wowsers! That is a stunning example!

cts - Also, try Jacek (HQ Milton). I see he currently has a 1971 and 1970 red Sub listed on his website, but no 1972... You can follow his IG account (watchand) where he usually previews his new batch of incomings before they make it on to the website.
