YM2 and AD Question

I bought a BLNR last December at Ben Bridge in SoCal along with my GF buying a Datejust II. I went in last week as I am interested in the YM2 in SS and I figured why not return to the place where we picked up the 2 watches the prior year and had a great experience. When I asked about the YM2 they said no discount or reduction. Just wondering since this is my first attempt as a repeat customer, is it normal to receive no break on the next watch? Would another AD do a better deal than the full freight retail?

When they said no how did you talk about the previous sales? I would push a little more. If they say no I would then ask yourself what is more important a good experience as you mentioned prior or the discount. If the discount is worth more to you I would go trusted seller here.

There really is no "normal", it's just all about what your particular AD feels he can move without discounts. It is a retail business after all.

Now having said that, I've seen BNIB or LNIB on the TRF for WAY below retail...so if you're looking at saving a buck, that would be your best bet.

I just picked up a brand new SSYMII from a TRF trusted seller at WELL below retail. GREAT watch. Forget the AD and the AD "experience". Buy smart.

I'd have trouble paying more than 16 for a YM2. Great watch, love it but outside the forums it is a slow seller and lacks the resale value of other SS rolexes.
I would go back and just be upfront. Say, I love shoping with you, this is my third watch which I'm purchasing from you and I like to give you my business but I know I can get the watch considerably cheaper elsewhere. Let's find a common ground

Buy one on TRF price and experience is better in my opinion. It feels good getting 25% off retail. Also if you go with a trusted seller on here they are wonderful to deal with. I will never buy from an AD again. Just did a deal on here last week. It was great.

Rolex AD's these days are very hard put to give a discount of almost any type. especially for a SS model

they may be able to work with tax etc but I don't expect them to do much if anything for SS

the last SS watch I bought was a Daytona from my AD that I have bought countless watches from and I paid retail for it

others results may vary but don't be disappointed

if a discount is what you are looking for the trusted seller route is the way to go

You should get a fairly good discount on the SS YMII. Try another AD or trusted seller here.

same here! got about 25% off retail, trusted seller route.

Plus, I never even had to put my pants on to get it! That's worth more than a diet coke and/or a glass of champagne.

So I went back to the AD yesterday. They do remember me. The "Deal" they would offer me this time, on full boat $18,750 price for YM2 in SS was this. 30% down and 0% financing for 18 months (roughly 787 a month) AND only good until the 24th. I have to think I can get the watch I want for well below that. Search continues. Have some PM's to go through to see if I can't find a better deal. My location needs to be updated, I used to live in NYC and am in SoCal now.

BB is also a chain store, so they likely have less flexibility that a local / mom + pop AD.

If you haven't already, reach out to Takuya, looks like he might have one currently for ~$13k

It really does depend on the AD and the watch. I bought the exact same Daytona as Dr. Tom and paid full retail, but the AD ate the sales tax.

Spot on.

You can get a SS YM2 on here for 13.5k~

18k for a YM2 is an awful price. Save the 5k and buy another watch. Or if your willing take the 18k add more money and get a gold watch from a trusted seller.

I haven't yet ventured out of chain or AD although I'm not as averse to it as I once was. I've heard as many great stories as bad and it is a siginificant savings. They can keep the champagne, my only concern is recourse and protection for laying out that kind of money. I will keep looking on here and some other AD's people have suggested.

Just bought my wife's oyster perpetual from the big AD in the Dallas Galleria. Asked for and got 5% off just for asking. The Chinese AD gave me a 10% discount off my GMT two weeks ago
