CK2998 reissue, talk me out of it...
I know, maybe asking too much from this crowd. But certainly I don't need another Speedy (I already own a classic Pro in the form of a 1999 Hello Houston, and a bi-color Apollo XV 35th anniversary).and an X33 Skywalker for when I feel adventurous...
But just came across a NOS CK2998 reissue of some years back (lollipop chrono hand) and I wonder if I should jump on it. I like the style, I like the size. But I wasn't in the market for one of these... and while the price is right, it's not exactly cheap. What do you think ? |

Personally, they do nothing for me. There are so many nicer Speedmasters, so if you really want someone to talk you out of it I could do a verbal hatchet job on it to help your cause.

I'm still hoping for a ck2998 exact reissue like what they did to ck2915. A hint of yellow patina, alpha hands, straight lugs, aluminium base 1000 bezel. Would be perfect.

Thanks for all the feedback.
I decided to pass on this one. First, I am loving the FOIS more than the CK. Pictures in this thread helped crystallize this realization. And second, I was under the impression that the Blue CK was somewhat rare as NOS, but it's not really the case. So for now I will give the wallet a bit of a rest, and keep enjoying the honeymoon with my SM300MC. Thanks again. |

Quite frankly it's one of my favorite special editions they've done. I feel like it'd hold value in the long run too because the blue panda with the matching lollipop hand is what does it for me. The new pulsometer with the red second hand seems off/out of place and reaching (even more desperate than Omega's usual LE marketing) in many ways.
I do think a NOS example is hard to come by these days for this particular watch though and if the price is more than fair....might be a good one to hang on to. If you're looking for a nice conditioned used one, I actually have a good friend here on the forums looking to maybe move his. Either way, spectacular watch IMO. |

It’s hard to talk ya out of a fantastic watch. That color scheme is so nice and very different in the Speedy realm of watches. I had it on my radar too, but haven’t bought yet. I’m not sure I like it better then the Zenith El Primero 1969 tri color reissue

My AD called me to ask if i want to get their latest delivery of a 2018 ck2998.
Should i? I know it’s stupid to ask a forum of enablers. I just dont know where to go. Watch jumping at me. But i already closed my 2018 watch buying budget. So i guess ... |

Blue Panda Ck2998 is the way to go. One of the modern speedies out there that hold it’s value.

I would go for it because I like the combination of this version. Has all the quirks - racing strap on a pulsometer. Took a while for me to like it. But now I do. You have to see the watch in person to notice that the dial really pops! Good luck! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Decided to get it. Should have it by next week. AD only gave me short time to think since several in line supposedly.
If i regret it, easier to correct. Unlike if i don't get it, might be difficult to correct if I regret it. |

I agree with this statement
I paid MSRP for it plus taxes and wish it was cheaper around 4-5 range At high 6 low 7 range you def have Rolex as a contender, but if you have a Rolex or a solid daily beater, this ck2998 definitely add a nice fun piece Obvi if you have money to burn then def get this piece |
