Show us your original Bubbleback bracelets

Hi all,

This thread is intended as an enquiry and a bit as a bit of fun...

I would be interested to see an example of an original Rolex Bubbleback leather band if anyone owns or has images of what one might have look like?

It is my understanding that bubblebacks were purchased with or without bracelets or bands at the time (dont ask where I read that, is this even true?) but either way what kind of bands did rolex fit them with as standard?

Would be great to see some photos of anyone's got any.

Cheers,

Peter

If it helps .....

EDIT: I now see you're looking for old leather and I've waffled on about steel bracelets. Sorry 'bout that !

I'm thinking the Rolex dealers would have presented their bubblebacks on leather straps but buyers could certainly opt for a bracelet.
Before the first Rolex Oyster bracelets arrived (1948 ?), a well heeled buyer could opt for a Gay Freres rice bead bracelet.
Not a marvellous pic. but heres a Gay Freres bracelet on my late 1940s SpeedKing ....

Bonklip, Clewco and WAB bracelets were also common fare in the late '40s. Any of those might be considered period correct.
Not a Rolex but I'm talking about this kinda thing ....

Sometimes you see early bubble backs with the square end-piece oyster rivet bracelets too.

This is 2-tone stretch rivet from my 3065. Thie clasp was replaced some time after with that from a later rivet bracelet.

Here's a few. Mostly NOS or they started that way when I got them. I actually wear some of them.

What a collection!

Sorry for resurrecting the years old thread, but does anybody have an idea as to how the buckles for the bubbleback looked like? Did they have the crown buckle, or just a regular one?
