Question on rolex 1665

Hi, i have seen a 1665 with serial number 3,5xx,xxx.
Based on my research, it is dated from 1973....but it is not red!
Is it normal?

Any help would be warmly welcome.

Thank you.

Sure, it could be normal. It would just not be the original dial, perhaps a service replacement dial.

Lots of dials were changed over the years at service.

Does the "f" in ft cover the top of the "t" in ft? if yes, this is a service dial.

Pictures attached

Dear all,
thank you for your first replies.
I attached some pictures of the watch...apparently, it seems that the "f" covers the "t" in ft...so is it really a replacement dial?

The selling price is good...as far I am concerned.

Could you please tell me your thoughts about this watch?
thank you.

This should very likely be a mk3 DRSD.

The watch at present has:
Service crystal
Later date wheel
Service insert
Early service dial
Poper bracelet
Case is thick, but soft.
Crown guards are good but not great.
Proper case back

Well, depends on what you like.

Are you looking for a great white or a double red? With this watch, you have half of one and half of the other.

Honestly, there are better options out there... don't buy it b/c it is a "good buy" ... buy when you find an amazing watch.

I would have a hard time with the difference in dial and hand color , you could try to source a more correct dial and insert and a silver date shell and it would look good

Would have to agree- matching hands and dial would really set it off!
