Based on a quick look at the photos, I'd say yes.

Any accessories? Service history? Credible seller? ...I'd take it.

No accessories, unknown service history and seller is a buddy of mine. he will refund me 100% should there be any authenticity issues or any other issues for that matter

Looking to own or flip? Cash burning a hole in your pocket? I'd buy it, wear it and enjoy it... Just my opinion

just to wear. i am lucky to have a great career and would not spend the time or effort to make a few hundred bucks honestly. just wondering if it makes sense given the year and pics. i could use a daily beater and if i'm in one good, even better.

I'd hit chrono24 to make sure it's in the ball park, then do my buddy a favor and take it. If it's going to be a daily beater I wouldn't be too worried about stretchy bracelet as long as it's all authentic.

Bummer. That was a great deal. You definitely have to move quick on these.

Ouch, the one that got away.
Yes, that 1984 Ref. 16800 for $3800 was a terrific buy price. Even at $4800 and without box/papers and needing a service, it's a pretty solid deal.
The good thing is, there's always another one to find.

Don't look at it as a missed opportunity. Every time you come across one and eval the condition and price you learn. You will be better able to decide correctly in the future

A buddy sold it out from you that quick

That would have been a great price for a nice daily beater, I guess oh, well

It was offered a few days before I posted this. Been a busy week. I dragged my feet too long.

Might want to review his 'buddy status' after this one...
