I was thinking exactly the same thing, or else a green GMT hand? Looking forward to seeing how it turns out. |

My God, man.
That is beautiful. In my estimation, we can close the thread now. I don't suppose there's any way to do something similar with a Sub No Date? A few hundred bucks and a dial change could keep me from making another multi-thousand dollar purchase... |

Can someone please mod a white gold Daytona with the black racing dial, just a simple ceramic bezel swap..

Submariner "Evolution Homage"
Hi everyone,
How do you like this one? It started life as a stock 16800 with a 3035 movement, but after the case was severely damaged during diving I decided to take it to the grinder and give it some serious modifications. The outcome is what you see, inspired by several of the posts in this thread. I think it turned out quite well, and it is now definitely a very unique Rolex Submariner that somehow pays homage to the various evolutionary steps that this iconic divers' favourite has made over time. |

Here is a sneak peek at one I'm working on right now. A platinum Yachtmaster with gold maxi hands and a submariner nipple dial.

Ok. Don't roast me on this one. It's little extreme. It's a combination of a couple of things that I love. The nipple dial, and the Yachtmaster case. I did a test fit of a GMT nipple dial but have a submariner nipple dial on its way which would suit the watch better. Handset is a nos gold Yachtmaster set with maxi hands. I couldn't resist!

I have just read through the entire thread. Modifying Rolex watches is always going to be a contentious subject with people having strong opinions. Some of the watches I like very much, others, not so much, but that is always going to be the case with someone else’s taste. Thank you all for your contributions and best wishes

Great to see a lot of non-purists and hobbyists here
IMO a watch is to keep and it's personal, therefore one could modify it the way they like it if necessary (as long as it's not for defrauding purposes... e.g. 116610 -> 116619 with rhodium plating then scam for profit) This started off as a 16233 and ended up as a 14270 |

Is it possible to fit a 1655 bezel on to a 16570? Pics? Thanks.

Although I have not attempted it, I believe not. Typically, bezels are not interchangeable between cases; the 1655 case is different from the 16750 case.

Not possible. Inner diameter of the bezels are different. You could put the 1655 bezel in a lathe and open it up a half mm but I wouldn't recommend it.

damn .. I would never dare to modify a Rolex watch, even though some look cool, not my cup of tea into modding.
