A new thread mentioning a Luke Rottman has just begun over on www.vintagerolexforum.com

There is mention of a refinished dial and a problem with a refund.

Who is Michael Falone?

It would be great if LR could return here and tell us anything more about these stories.

Probably as a result of moderation / forum rules, the thread has now been deleted from VRF.

The complainant was clearly very unhappy and made troublingly familiar claims that would raise the eyebrows of many who have followed this thread.

You can still find the thread in bings cache. I usually go to googles cache in cases like this but it was only available in bing.

Ah, this thread again :-)

I see some further, similar things on both Luke Rottman's and Robert Maron's websites. For example :

http://www.thewatchadviser.com/the-shop/role

http://robertmaron.com/product.php?p...01&cat=&page=1

and

http://www.thewatchadviser.com/the-shop/rolex-day-

http://robertmaron.com/product.php?p...71&cat=&page=1

....even with the same descriptions and corrigenda. In the last lines about the bracelet on both the Day-Dates: "...in an [sic] of itself..." is coincidentally written thus in both.

Mr. Rottman was keen to distance himself from Mr. Maron earlier in the thread, but if you follow it through it is remarkable how they seem to show so many watches in common.

It would be lovely if he would revisit this thread and perhaps comment further.

Mere coincidence, no doubt. This Rotter fellow seems like a lad of unassailable integrity, much like his apparent guru. ;)

Is there a reason I'm missing that this thread keeps getting brought back Monbk? Just curious, I read the whole thread and have to admit, it's interesting. I'm curious if anyone has enjoyed any transactions with either of these fellas?

It’ll keep resurfacing until or unless people feel satisfied with Luke Rottman’s account. His refusal to engage may only excite further suspicion.

I find it interestimg to spot watches that Rottman, the WatchAdvisor, offers for sale which can be identified at exactly the same time on Robert Maron’s site. Is this consistent with Rottman’s stated position earlier in the thread?

Their connections may be opaque and mysterious to many and the refusal to engage further with this thread may sit badly.

Followers of this thread may wish to know that there is now a Luke Rottman Facebook page on which it is stated that the person of that name "Works at Robert Maron Watches."

Some may also wish to read the comments on a watch he has posted in the Vintage Rolex Forum page on Facebook today.

The thread on Fb has just been deleted....and apparently not by a moderator! Luckily I have screen shots of all, but not sure about publishing in full as they contain a fresh...er...story from a very unhappy third party.

Separately, I note from the timeline on Luke Rottman's Facebook page that he himself says "Started New Job at Robert Maron Watches" ....in 2014.

Admin on the VRF Facebook page have just published an extraordinary, specific appeal which may be significant.

I could not say if events earlier today are connected.
