St. Maarten Sonesta Ocean View Anyone?

Hey was wondering if anyone has ever been to St Maarten Sonesta Ocean View. Looking to go early August which from reading should be nice weather. Anyway thanks for the input in advance.

I have stayed there but it's been at least ten years ago if not longer. it was OK but nothing that special as I recall. Check out the Sunset Bar & grill down by the approach end to the runway.

It's the hotel we use for a layover hotel. I've been there many times. Mediocre at best.

We had to leave the hotel for awhile because of repeated norovirus outbreaks. I've heard reports that it's still a problem. Maybe check TripAdvisor.

Unless you want to be close to the beach to watch airplanes I'd look someplace else.

There is a strip club close and during the day the "dancers" all go to the beach about a 1/4 behind the hotel to get rid of their tan lines. It's always worth a quick walk to see what's out.

+1 for Belmond La Samanna if you are thinking St. Maarten
Luxury, great beach, great service and food.

For AI Caribbean check out - Hermitage Bay (Antigua)

As long as you stay on the French side of the Island, you're OK.
